If you could buy any current football player for the mighty reds, who would you buy??

This is a bit of a fantasy question really, but when making your selection please, select a player who would most benefit our current squad???

For me it would be a really tough one between Sol Campbell and Fernando Morientes.

(Feel free to crtisize my thread, i am expecting it

Zidane is still the finest player in the world.He`s old but christ id pay anything to see him in a red shirt for a couple of seasons.

Because i feel the defense needs bolstering up i would have love to have Ayala at the club. A no nonsense defender who takes no prisoners.

I thought of Ayala, he is very mobile and no nonsense, but i thought big Sol alongside Hyppia would be an awesome central defence.

Its Zidane,he`d have the freedom of midfield.Hey,i know he wouldnt fit the present team but there are some players you move the goalposts for.

Failing that a class centre half, Ferdinand, Cannavaro or Nesta would do nicely.

i agree on nesta, wholeheartedly. also on rooney...we need a striker and and i firmly believe he's got to be english. that's why shearer ain't a bad idea. frankly i'd rather see shearer than rooney...someone to help the team gel, help the youngsters grow up a little so that by the time he does get too old, we're as good as we should be. no matter how good the individuals on a team are, the team needs a heart to win...and gerrard's not old enough yet in my opinion. so, realistically, i'd legitimately like to see us get shearer. unrealistically...nesta and rooney.

i also like puyol after seeing him play juve last summer...but centre back is more important.
