We did get beaten by Bolton at the Reebok last season. Garcia had a goal disallowed, which was the wrong decision.

I think someone's already made the point that only 2 Chelsea players played in all 4 of their matches over the Christmas period. :oh:

from what I saw (only MOTD I'm afraid,) we were unlucky - on another day neither of their goals would have gone in. We looked the better side again, against one of the more successful sides in the league. Last season we'd have sunk out of trace when that went against us but now we've got a point from a difficult away game. If it wasn't for the fact we'd won the last 10, almost all of us would have been happy with that. As for whether Hyppia is good enough, I totally agree with the comments about how difficult it must be for him and Carra having Traore at left back. Amazes me that Hyppia is still getting slated when players like Traore still somehow get a game at all. We knew at the start of the season that our squad didn't have enough quality cover, and if we were going to get found out, 4 games over Xmas was always going to do it. 10 out of 12 points is phenomenal in the circumstances. 2 or 3 decent players, coming in over the next few weeks will take us on again. Wont be enough to win the league this year, as Chelsea can't be stopped this season. But we can scare them into believing they aren't the only side in it next season. Our day is getting closer!

I agree with a few posters that Traore was poor, and I thought he was our worst performer.  What does Rafa see in him?  He could have had Riise (I'm sure he wasn't tired, I don't think he ever gets tired does he?) or Warnock there.

I was dissappointed with Sinama, though he didn't get great service.

On the positive side it was good to see Kewell playing well over the last few games, and I thought Garcia looked a little better (though I suppose that is easier when you have fresh legs compared with everyone else on the pitch)

Despite Bolton's two goals that shouldn't have been, I thought we lost this game in centre midfield, not because of any combination of Hypia, Traore and Reina.  With Hamann and Sissoko we missed the distribution that Alonso provides.  We didn't control this game like we have recently.  I think if we don't have Alonso in the middle then we've got to have Gerard there.  Lesson learnt I hope.

It seems to be one rule for us, and another for every fecker else.

Reina was, working on the way the Premiership is officiated, fouled. End of story.

Well that's 10 points from 12,all credit to the lads, listening to 5 Live's commentary yesterday it seemed as if half the team were running on empty by the end of the game.
That said Carra's challenge on Nolan looked a definite penalty but on the other hand for their second goal Davies looked yards offside...

As for that dirty t**t Essien, what goes around comes around! :D :

:D I don't know whats funnier, Banana awarding Hyppia a "3" or Stu's "I didn't see the game but he's talking b0llocks" response. Seriously, you've got to give Banana his due, he's been waiting for Sami to have a bad one for weeks and the minute he did, "bosh" he was in and like Alf Inge Haaland standing over a stricken Roy Keane, he wasn't about to let it pass in a hurry. For his part, Stu is now waiting for Sami to get the winner in the Cl final in Paris. "Take that you ****". Classic forum banter.

What about the foul. Are Lando Griffin and I the only ones, who see a foul on Reina?

It's curious all my mates in the Real forum think it's foul, and many of you do not. Well, there are still differences between the continent and UK!

Not a foul on Reina for me, sorry Sabes mate. Keepers get too much protection as it is and he's a big boy now. Legitimate pressure on the goalkeeper in my opinion.

No, no need to be sorry, I was just very curious. We'd better learn that for the WC, at least Reina has learnt the lesson!

my thoughts on the game yesterday.

1. the pitch was a disgrace. this is the premier league for god's sake. as for the football, i knew it wasn't going to be pretty. how anyone can pay to watch bolton week in week out is beyond me.

2. sissoko needs to seriously watch himself on the pitch. if he's not careful he's gonna spend more time banned than on the pitch in the second half of the season. to be honest i couldn't believe that he didn't get substituted.

3. traore is a complete liability. the number of times he plays attackers onside by hanging two yards behind the centre backs is frightening.

4. we miss alonso big style when he's not playing. see the pass for garcia's goal as proof of this.

5. 4 games in 8 days is a joke. believe me i hate this excuse of tiredness but in the first half especially we just looked totally knackered.

6. cisse should have started. sinama pongolle has hardly had a kick in the last month and it showed. he looked completely off the pace.

7. hyypia and carragher didn't have their best games by any means. hyypia gave some stupid free kicks away which is the last thing you want to do against bolton and carragher could easily have given a penalty away.

however all in all i'll take a point considering we were behind twice. second half we were by far the better side as stevie g and alonso got into the game more.

Agree on that, He really needs to work on his discipline. I know he's young but ffs he's nealry getting sent off in every game he plays. He is nealry as reckless as Essien, who got tw@tted yesterday incidentally.

Although I don't condone it, I did enjoy him stamping on Diouf who was a fkn disgrace the whole game.

don't even get me started on diouf. he went down like he'd been shot endless times when carragher challenged him. that was pretty much bolton's strategy as always. hit it long, win a free kick and then pump the ball into the box. infact the first goal wasn't even a free kick as finnan was merely shepherding the ball out of play.

and as for essien, good riddance to him getting injured. and for maureen to have the nerve to claim afterwards that the tackle on him was worse than the one which essien made on hamann is an absolute joke. how much more sh#te is this idiot going to get away with saying? ???

It's better than bloody panto!!!

I must admit Banana goes on about Hyppia (even on the back of the clubs best defensive run in donkeys) and his lack of his pace so often it has become like a mantra.

Sami didn't exactly play a blinder did he? But then he's been playing out of skin up till now and he and Carra must already be arguing over who gets first turn to sit out when Agger (or whoever) gets to the club in the next 10 days.
