injuries will always happen and changing the boots will only change the skill level of the game if u ask me.

someone above said they would change the fraction of speed for more protection. try asking henry if hed do the same.
see if luis garcia would have scored against juventus in sucha  way if he was wearing big old boots.

bring back CLODHOPPERS  :D , never did me any harm  :D

Every player should be issued with a pair of Gola boots.

Billys boots
He had no problems with an old pair of boots.

Maybe players should look at the strapping they use now that boots are getting lighter and softer. Bit like boxing bandaging but for your feet.

SG is strapped up I notice, does he has ankle problems or is it just precautionary

I think boots in the early-to-mid-90s were absolutely spot on. I still think the classic Puma Kings from that time are the best boots I've ever played in. Not heavy by any means, but certainly not skimping in protection.

Unfortunately, boot manufacturers keep trying to push the envelope, and I think we're now at a stage where their efforts for lighter and thinner materials are actually making matters worse. I've tried the updated Kings, and I'm not convinced that they're any better for me or my game than the pair I had over a decade ago. And I don't think for a second that putting Thierry Henry in a pair of boots that are 75g heavier will have any kind of impact on his game. Players adapt to the equipment they're lumbered with incredibly quickly, and in the end it's skill and ability that wins out, not the thickness of the material you've got over your toes.

The fact is players probably demand lighter boots knwoing the increased chance of injury. It not the manufacturers fault as they only make the boots lighter as thats waht the players want.

Well for me it is blatantly obvious that thinner, weaker materials will result in more frequent injury.

For an example, place a pillow, in it's pillowcase over your stomach, then get a friend to kick you there. It hurts, but not a lot.

No repeat, but remove the actual pillow, leaving only the case.

It's bloody stark.

Bahaha

Companies wants to sell new products to earn more money so they make people think that they need these new products. The companies ofcourse say that they just deliver what the consumers wants. Today it's about creating needs and wants not filling those needs and wants that really exists.
