Emile heskey - Will he keep it up this time?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Two games in a row now he's shown that he still has it in him.

The "treble season" Heskey played tonight aswell as the other day, power, pace, skill and work rate.

It upsets me knowing what he's been wasting for the last two years after seeing that tonight once more. It would be great to see him back to his best and save us £12m on Cisse... I would love nothing more.

He was clearly up for it fo the second time in a week and the second time in two years tonight.

There has been no signs he will ever get back to what he was apart from these last two games, hopefully he won't let us all down and the real Emile Heskey can stand up and start to be counted from now on.

I second that, but only one person can give us the answer.Heskey will be the lead man on saturday,he has to perform like he did tonight.Maybe the coaching of Rush, where he turns away from the defender,is beginning to work for Heskey, only time will tell.Emile's future is in his own hands.

Well i think in all honesty he has about 4 months to save his career.

No doubt Heskey at his best is brilliant and a class above Baros but he has to do it consistently like in the treble season.

Please Emile... get back to yer best mate!!!

I see your not a Heskey fan then :p I think he takes more than his fair share of criticism on here as well as on the terraces but Houllier and Sven MUST see something in him to keep picking him. Last season he played largely out wide and was criticised for not scoring enough goals, this season he has improved his goalscoring rate and  his work rate is secong to only Stevie G. I wish him well as i do  ALL the Liverppol players but I fear if GH goes so will Heskey, unless we do indeed get Oneil who vaguely knows Heskey  :D

Heskey is a class act....... at his best........ in the treble season and against chelsea the other day.

Apart from that over the last 2 years he's shown nothing but cr#p unfortunately.

And supersub... i hope Owen doesn't start as i never agree with changing a winning side.

Heskey was a hero that evenig.
But you can't say " i hope Owen doesn't start as i never agree with changing a winning side"
I don't think Owen had nothing to do with that match.Though he's sitting in the charis,he was still have effect on the match.

Agree with you Chinesegirl. I think even the sight of Michael Owen on the bench was a boost for everyone in the team. Owen is the most important player at the club and if Liverpool want to progress as a club we need the Champions League place and Michael Owen to stay.

Wasn't cr#p again today. Was very good infact.

Played well against Yeovil, played superbly against Chelsea and now has a good game today and played more than his part in the goal.

He has fantastic ability, he just needs to show it more often.
