Dyer or duff - Would you sign them?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

After seeing a lot of speculation about these two i was just wonderin if anyone thinks it would be good to see LFC go after either of these two as i think we could get both for around 20 million, personally id go for both of them as they would strethen are midfield up big time and they are just what we need and they both have plenty of experiance in the prem. I also think if we got hold of Dyer, although hes a bit of pain in the ****** and injured quiet a bit, i reckon Rafa could be the man to sort him out and along with Alonso i think this would be a great move, just hope we have the money.
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?

among dyer and duff, and if there's a money for us to this two fellows,my vote go for dyer because we're thirsty for right winger this term and we're already appreciate the responsibilities made by kewell(ain't?) so duff doesn't much better for us to go into the transfer market.:p

Duff is top class. Chelsea really lost their way in the title chase when he got injured. When he gets over his shoulder injury he's the best winger out there. Dyer is ok.

Duff would be a good buy, when fit he's terrific.
Dyer is a talented player but seems to have a huge ego and a serious attitude problem, wouldn't even contemplate buying him.

I would take the both of them.

Duff to put some real pressure on H and get the best out of him, and Dyer to pull all the fit birds in the Grafton.

i think we should get Dyer and Duff if we can afford them. Dyer can certainly add quality to our right flank while Duff will be a great Asset to have in any situation. If they are avaiable... y not... Come On LFC.. Accept Morgan's bid.. and let him invest some needed funds to the club... than Rafa can seriously do some rebuilding.. by bringing some quality.. and that will need money...

I would get Duff and not Dyer. I'm an admirer of Duff because he provides another dimension we don't have. All Dyer has is speed and nothing else. Also, Dyer doesn't want to play on the right flank. He prefer to stay in the middle because he thought he would have a better chances of capping England in that position.

According to Skysports Dyer has a price tag of £8M.. That would be a bit steep, don`t you think. The same article says that Dyers conflict with his manager has it`s offspring in Dyers wish to play centre mid while Robson wants him to play right winger. I can`t see that Dyer would force either Gerrard nor Alonso out of their spots on central mid., so I`ve got a hard time seeing that he, with his huge ego, would settle for the right mid if he was to sign for us.

damien duff is top class. better than kewell in my opinion. however like kewell he seems to have injury problems all the time.

as for dyer, can't shoot, can't cross, can't tackle. do you want me to go on? he's the most overrated player in england.

Niall why do you feel the need to promote everything Irish?

Disagree about Dyer being Overated. Very good player, used wrongly and injured to much to bother with. If he came up at the right price though i'd take a gamble on him.

Kewell and Duff are superb players. Personally i'd want Harry at his best, but the problem is he's very Rarely at his best these days

I disagree with Stu (only to a small degree though) as I think Dyer is over rated.  A few years ago he thrilled us all with his speed and craft, but since then he has suffered a lot with injury and poor form. He used to be a good player and may re-capture his form, but an on-song Dyer is no-where as good as an on-song Kewell or Duff.

Kewell was a tremendous player a few years ago, especially in 2000 and 2001 when he was bordering on genuine world class. He had pace, skill, penetration and most importantly of all, the ability to pull off the outrageous.

I think he went down hill a lot in David O' Leary's last days and he complained that O' Leary was trying to convert him into more of an orthodox left midfielder.

We haven't seen his best form for either Liverpool nor Leeds for 3 years now, and his Australian national coach Farina has warned that his ankle injury could end his career. I hope I am not premature and I hope Kewell finds his best form, but he looks to me as if his ankle is holding him back.

Kewell is still a decent player though.

Duff is potentially a better long term bet. His injury is a shoulder injury and that is not as career threatening as a knee or ankle injury. He was a silly boy last year as he ignored his doctor's advice to have a proper operation on his shoulder in December, and that ruined the rest of his season. He'll get over that problem, but he'll leave Chelsea within 12 months, mark my words.
