Does intelligence overule passion? - !

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Right Ok here i go! Yes i know its early in the season now and my thinking is not measured on our few games! So dont call me a doom n gloom merchant cause that i aint!

My thinking is measured purely on Raffa Bentez and his mate Paco! Dont get me wrong i love Raffa and always will ..that does not mean i agree with everything he does!

We all know that Raffa is a perfectionist..he is articulate in all his work and everything he does!!Its a science to him!!FOOTBALL SCIENCE!!

Yes Foot ball science!!
Do these 2 words actually go together?
Football and Science? Not for me they dont! The reason for this post is the fact i feel that Raffa goes way to deep with all this sh.it!Analise your last game we had 40 balls in the box they had ten so we must work as hard next time!!Thats not good enough when ya get beat1-0 Raffa!..What i mean to say is that :
1) Does all this analisation make players better!!

2)Do you think that this scientific approach is the way to glory?

3)Or like me do you think that it hinders the thing we left at the door when playing Everton!PASSION!!!

I think without the science-side of it, you'll only ever have limited success.

At the very top echelons of the game, it's the finer details that can swing the balance.

Intelligence will never overrule passion but unfortunately Passion can be a hinderance sometimes because it affects the thinking..... Finding the balance between the two is the holy grail for managers...

Not sure that Rafa is that scientific. resting players a  couple of weeks into the season suggests a lack of both PASSION and COMMON SENSE

So we did not get beaten at Bluescum cause Raffa thinks too much?Did they not have more passion?Did they not want it more??

Whats with all the yellow cards for old scholl members in this thread ? Has Graham Poll started moderating the gaff or what ?

You can oly improve your performance if you know your performance, its a management rule that translates to every level of managing people.

its not upto the manager to instill passion into how players play! he is there to tell them what to do and when, the passion comes from playing for a club like liverpool! players tend to end up loving the club, not becasue of the hefty pay or the cups but because of the passion this club exudes from the fans the management and players like Carra and Stevie G!

thats my 50 cents worth, hello by the way. ive posted a few times but never introduced myself properly.

No i wont Woof!! Cause i know that tomorrow Raffa will have all of our team told how to play! He does this he does that Ballack will do this!! I feel that games like these we dont really need a team talk! Just go and get into the fuc.kin :censored: and beat them should be enough!!Tomorrow i will watch Benitez and our LFC! Sometimes sadly i feel that a C/L and Fa cup are all we can win!! In my opinion the league is beyond this man that wants to manage Madrid!! Are LFC a stepping stone?NO Way!

Baz , I understand where you're coming from , I too find some of Rafa's decisions puzzeling (to put it mildly) but the fella has done more than enough during his time with us to deserve some credit. No way despite my current concerns over his team selections am I about to join some anti Rafa tirade.
