hahaha, all they'd succeed in doing is scaring away their sponsors, creating even more debt than they'll have with glazer's takeover bid.  If you play with fire, your gonna get bgurned, except only manchester united still hasn't figured that bit out

after reading the comments, i still think they are boycotting the wrong people, what can the sponsors do about glazer?  If they back out new ones will be found, just because glazer is there doesn't mean Man U isn't marketable

i hate the way they keep saying mufc is a football club and it belongs to the fans, it is a business now and whilst they enjoy the plc money, they dont want the club to be sold to the yanks, haha

the banners saying man utd not for sale, somebody should mention the fact that they are a plc and there stocks are traded reguarly on the stock market

didn't they remove the words FC, so they could become a more marketable enterprise worldwide ?

If Glazier becomes successful in his bid (I don't know about the take-over rule in the UK, but in here in Malaysia it would be successful if he managed to obtain acceptance for his bid which if added to his existing shareholding, results in an enlarged shareholding to exceed majority 50% + 1 share), then he can proceed with his agenda to gear (borrow money externally) the club to the hilt to finance his purchase, resulting them to become the manchester version of leeds utd.

He now has some 28%, so he only needs over 22% acceptance which may seem likely as his biod is 300p and the share price is some 280p, with the smaller shareholders being "investors" who may not get much in dividends and may just decide to make their money up front. i hope Glazier becomes successful... :D

ok i just posted this on the petition, the funny thing is it thanks you afterwards

where do you retards get off?
1. your club is for sale, you are a plc
2. why would boycotting your sponsers change anything, it wont be them selling their shares in the club. they are sponsors and not shareholders.
3. why are your players getting involved, in fact gillette was just taken over and i didnt see any of their employees in the papers crying about it
4.do you really think that the sponsors will worry about a few silly people like yourselves, have you seen the revenues of these companies and how cash rich they actually are? dont forget these sponsors have stuck with you even though as a club you have at times let them down with various scandals that old beetroot face seems to stumble his way through.
5.just accept it, its business, your club is  a business, remember you are now manchester united plc and not manchester united football club.
6. do you really think manchester united plc gives a toss about you?
7. do you think the sponsers actually give a toss about you? tell you what, why dont you contact gillette and ask for sponsors tickets as you are a loyal supporter and see what response you get

just accept this, i appreciate the business world is far removed from some of you and obviously you dont fully realise what is happening. this is obvious by the fact you think you cant be bought. maybe you can take it to court and push to get this hostile takeover aborted, maybe you can even appoint mike riley as the judge so you can be certain of victory. (just for the total retards, i know its not a hostile takeover, im just being pedantic, there is nothing hostile when your current owners are happy to talk. oh, and for those of you who dont know what pedantic is get a dictionary, find someone who can read it and then get them to explain it to you.

stupid c@nts

Come, on peewee, I think that some of these lads are happy to see some of the mancs getting panicky about their club because on the field, there is nothing much for us Liverpool fans to gloat about over them.

The reality of it is that being a plc, manure shares are much more easily traded as they are publicly quoted. Glazier wants to buy at a premium to enable the other shareholders to be enticed but he also relied heavily on manure being financially leveraged as he himself does not have all of the money he is bidding.

The downside is that manure will be so heavily geared that they may have problems to finance player purchases. This is the side effect of turning football clubs into big commercialised businesses.

I think it is just some banter for the lads here to take off some of their frustrations at seeing Liverpool not making much progress at the present moment.
