Blackburn vs liverpool - Let's keep the run going....

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Good match.

I'll take the draw.

Good points:

Baros was superb. He is beginning to look really dangerous as a striker. People were saying Garcia is a better player and a natural striker, clearly untrue.

Traore impressed again. Football is such a funny game. For years hes done nothing and suddenly he looks like a quality player.

Alonso. Hes the reason we've hardly missed Stevie. His long range passes are genius in their accuracy.

Chris Kirkland remains uninjured and made several game-saving stops tonight.

Bad points:

Josemi. Regularly beaten at right back for the third time this season.

Finnan is not a midfielder, he is a right back and should get a run in this position for a few games to prove himself.

Who is our natural right mid then? Nunez? Who knows.

Cisse. Possibly out for the rest of the season.

Riise. Fantastic goal. Should be goal of the month. Brilliant pass, first touch and finish. However I am not convinced that he is the complete article in left midfield.

Blackburn and Rob Styles. How did Reid escape a booking for his 2 footed tackle early in the second half? Tugay should have had 5 yellow cards. Baros is lucky not to have a broken leg as well

Alonso. Could be in trouble and facing a three match ban. Looked like a deliberate uppercut that the ref missed. Hope we hear no more about it.

I liked the way Riise kept tellin Rob Styles he was a "f**kin joke" :D

Felt sorry for Cisse cos him and Baros were looking better together,

Josemi got caught out of position too often,

Tugay should have been off,

Our defence looked dodgy but Traore played well again :)

Baros worked his ar53 off again and deserved his goal.

All in all a draw was a fair result.

And what about Hyypia? Another bad performance from him. He simply can't play in a top team because his weak pace lets him down too much and his skill on the ball and passing is horrible.

Hyypia, Josemi and Hamman don't have enough pace but that doesn't make them bad players, it means that their positioning needs to be spot on otherwise they will get punished :(

Yep Hyypia didn't have a good game either. I think he's been in pretty good form recently but your right, sometimes his lack of pace is dangerous for us.

I would like to know how many of you people passing judgement went to the game. Not a wolls/scousers go the game/dont go the game argument, its just that I was there, and I have to say that some of your appraisils are well off the mark.

Leon, I don't buy your 'You can't possibly make a correct assessment of the game if you were'nt actually in the stadium' arguement.

I get over to the matches when I can - last season Everton, Portsmouth and Newcastle at home. You can often assess the game as well, sometimes better, from your own armchair, with replays and multiple viewing angles especially if you've got poor seats.

I dont think your opinion on the game is likely to be better than anyone elses on here just because you were at the game.

On a different note, the LFC supporters were fantastic today, they sang the whole match. Often they were far louder than the home crowd even with their drums. :)

I love it when people come out with this rubbish.

How many runs did you see that were made off the ball this evening?

Also the away crowd was probably the worst of the season, very quiet indeed at times.

I did say that it was not a poke at people who dont go the game, but you have just highlighted the reason why muppets on here who were not at the match should not comment.

leon with respect,I have to side with fivecups here. However, there are occassions the camera misses i.e.players making runs off the ball, but with repeated video replays, studio assessment and constant looking at different angles it's unfair to say one can't get a reasonable picture of the game.

Look man, as I said I did not say it was an argument over the virtues of attanding or not attending, I was just curious as to the view that people had, as I felt some of the assesments of the players were well off the mark.

Then I implore you to give us your "true" assessment of the game.I can't possibly comment as I only got fleeting glimpses of the 1st half and the whole of the second half, due to family commitements to the childrens Halloween party.

The Halloween party was a complete success and all the kids did spendidly well in ducking for apples.Sadly no action replays ,so you had to be there to get the full picture.
