Which smartphone? - Anyone got these?

I've just had an upgrade and opted for the Nokia N8 smartphone. What a lump of dog sh!t this has turned out to be. I hate it. So it's off on Ebay and out of my life.

So, I'm looking at replacing it with maybe one of these 2 or if anyone has another type that is worth it let me know.

Samsung Galaxy Ace

Samsung Galaxy S

They claim the Galaxy S is one of the best smartphones in the world and the Galaxy Ace in a mini version of it. Kind of like a 'lite' version. Both run android OS, both have 5mp camera, but the Ace has a 800mhz processor and the S has a 1ghz processor.

I don't want to go for the Ace to find it's a cheap stripped down version of the S. I'd rather just go for the S.

Anyone got the S or the Ace?

I loved my iphone when I got it nearly two years ago. Though lately with some of updates looking likrBill Gates got his buggy hands on the apple and the battery life the love is beginning to wane.

One of my mates has just got Galaxy ace and it looks pretty swish

My Mrs has got one of them and swears that they're better than the iphones. All the applications etc are free but apple charge you for everyone of theirs.

Apple dont charge you for all of them, some are free (I THINK!). I mainly use my phone to call and text so the apps aren't a big deal to me anyway

I have a few Liverpool news ones though that are pretty handy, and the scores centre one as well :D

I know a few people with HTC phones, they all rave about them

I've got a couple of mates in the US owning HTC they love it and agree about the apps being free. They are telling me over there that it will become a huge brand name in 2 years time

hey up mate, one of my concerns was that going between screens would be lagging and slow? do you ever have any issues?

I am on contract but I'll be buying the phone new from elsewhere. I generally use text, light Internet browsing (BBC, google, ebay) sometimes watch some youtube videos but not often. Apps don't really interest me that much but I like the idea.

does it feel solid or plastic?

feels solid mate though I admit regarding the lag issues, it happens.

One of my main problems with it is once it says the battery's low you can do pretty much FA with it before it dies

I've got an iPhone and I love it.  I had an iphone 3g and now I've got the iPhone 4.  The 3g lasted me 3 years with no problems.  The 4 I've had for almost a year now and I've had no problems.  It's fast as hell and the easiest phone to use.  It's so simple to get used to and the keyboard is brilliant.  It types a lot better then any phone I've ever used.  Some apps you pay for and some are free.  If you don't want to pay for any you can easily get away with not paying sh!te for most the stuff because there is lite versions and because there are just so many.  My girlfriend's sister had both droid phones and had issues with both.  My dad has a blackberry some type-o-sh!te and doesn't know how to use it.  Always misses calls and gets lost trying to use it.  I can't figure it out at all.  If you don't pay as much as you'd pay for an iPhone, for a Samsung phone, you'll get garbage.  My girlfriend didn't want to pay the $20 a month or whatever and she got a cheaper Samsung, but ended up returning it for another because it was so much garbage.  Just really slow and froze.  Had similar problems with the next as well and ended up getting an iPhone.

Samsungs usually are great products, don't get me wrong, but I only trust the iPhone at this point in time. :)

Not to mention it looks and feels incredible.

I just can't justify the £400 + price tag for a iPhone 4.
