How come they were keeping baby gorillas in the same cage as chimps ?

I remember when I was a nipper me mum took me into Lewis' they had a little childrens zoo,rabbits, guinea pigs, white mice and a monkey that never stopped wa nkin' , he had a knob like a button mushroom with a long stem . The look on all the parents faces as they hurridley dragged their kids out of there was classic .
