Yeah , I spoke to some warden about it and he said that the animals (mainly monkeys and baboons) got used to being fed by humans and would eventually turn aggresive and attack humans who wouldn't feed them.
Humans were being literally "mugged" by a bunch of monkeys .

I still think blowing their heads of was a bit extreme.
