My old mans a nice bloke too, quite intelligent with it but he's not averse to the odd "round em up and shoot the feckers, the whole lot of 'em" when discussing chav's/louts/pikeys/layabouts. I've heard people talking about "hating" football fans and footballers and describe in vivid detail how they'd like to take part in breaking someones legs, shooting the owners, bombing Goodison etc. People say daft stuff sometimes, lifes like that.

dont know if you have read what he said or not but it was nothing like what you're saying in that post...

I did read what he said yes, and I'm merely making the point that people say silly things sometimes. I think his posts since have been somewhat less controversial, and whether this represents a clarification of an earlier misuanderstanding or a "backtrack", only S@int will know.

Personally though, I don't really give a feck either way to be perfectly honest. As I said I don't agree with his earlier posts (or at least my understanding of them) but I'm not prepared to change my opinion of the fella which has been built up over a number of years because of it.

I take it from the tone of your reply to my post that you did find the post more offensive, that's fair enough you certainly aren't on your own by the looks of things. It comes back though to the thing about people being entitled to their opinions and being prepared to accept that we don't all agree with each other all the time. I don't agree with S@int but that's OK by me, quite a lot of people don't agree with me much either.

OK, it was controversial, but so what?

Bleedin soap opera this place.

nnnnyyyyaaaaahhhhh, come on mate. imagine you're down the pub with a few of your mates and you've all had a couple of pints and are chatting bowlocks about all sorts of stuff. suddenly one of your mates pipes up with a surprising or maybe objectionable idea and the discussion gets all heated and dramatic. you start accusing each other of all sorts of things and the hyperbole competition begins.

well, thats nothing like what happens on here

:D

Honestly andy, if a mate came out with what S@int said I'd laugh it
off and probably agree in jest. And that would be that.

A thread shouldn't be locked just because someone has posted a controversial post. It should only get
locked if there is personal abuse.

Dude Love must be scratching his head if he were to read this thread.

I think no one is asking to change the opinion people have on S@int. The opinion about a poster is personal. I have to read here a lot of times that he's a nice bloke and I disagree that from 2 years ago, but that's irrelevant, it's just my opinion and I don't have to tell others what I think of him when I discuss football here.

No, everyone must be free to have an opinion about somebody.

I'll ask one thing though, how "well respected" is a member must not be a permission so that he can say anything.

Liverpool anytime, aka Karim, was banned for controversial views . It was a direct and permanent ban. What was the difference back then, that the regular members of this forum didn't like him?

How respected is a member shouldn't have anything to do with our tolerance. I would be equally intolerant with that views if it was posted by Lando or you.

So, I find ok S@int is respected and appreciated, needless to say. Everyone has an opinion and me too. But I disagree this new notion that any view should be discussed and tolerated.

I disagree it because that wasn't applied in the past and there are certain limits that should not be trespassed.

Myself I hope everything comes back to normal and I hope the people that enjoy the aquintances and friendships with him keep sharing those in newkit. I only was asking him not to post such views in the manner he did and make jokes about it.

I'm surpised not surprised that Big Mick hasnt been labelled "evil" or "barbaric" from Sabre.

Because I was generally giving the same opinion on Saint, although I may of agreed with Jondoe intially about removing organs from wicked people who are behind bars and deserve every bit of pain they've induced on their victims down the years. I said some good must literally be taken from them and I still stand by that.

I have to read here a lot of times that he's a nice bloke and I disagree that from 2 years ago, but that's irrelevant

And thats the thing, its not irrelavant you are the past master at bearing grudges from even when way back somebody may of posted a simple smiley to an irrelevant joke to you. Then you get you're teeth in and never let go. As I said before I gave a similar view on Saint to What Mick did, but since you like Micks botty and try to put the preverbial boot up mine, you label me Barbaric and beastly and carry on speaking to Mick in a tolerant manor.

If you're to share the content of our PMs Bam, I think it would be fair to tell aswell the whole picture and how you addressed me.

There's a direct relation between how politely I'm approached and how politely I answer you know.

It's called Reciprocity.

In the last post, you haven't given me too much reasons to be unpolite with you, so my answer is accordingly.

Bigmick is always polite when telling me things, even when he disagrees completely and thinks that I'm talking bóllocks. So he earns the same treatment when answered.

Number9 told me bad things in the past in PM, my answers were not much better. These days he's polite, and he gets the same treatment.

It's not rocket science Bam, it's Reciprocity.

I know I didnt speak to you with a nice tone via PM, but lets be fair PM's between us are never love letters anyway.

I didnt say it was "rocket Science" Ivan, what I am saying though the fact you dont like some members isnt irrelevant when you're talking about the wrong doings they've said and done on a forum.

I think I have sorted out my storm in a teacup with the mods, I retract my criticism of them on the basis that I was unfair and got on my high horse and had a go when I should have PM'd them instead and then fell victim to a bizarre set of coincidences/wind-up from Dude Love.

Anyway, the mods overall do a good job, a voluntary job mind you, and I more than anybody else should have appreciated that and not take a cheap shot at Bob.

Once more, let me categorically state that I AM NOT DUDE LOVE but as for Bob Grumbine, well, have you ever seen JBG and ol Bob in the same room together....... :D

Actually there is no medical evidence whatsoever that Hitler was missing a nut. It was a (rather funny) piece of British propaganda at the time where a joke became "fact".

I imagine it caused him no end of grief, though. I can imagine him sitting down in his bunker fuming over the one nut song.
