Though that may change when Mario Galaxy comes out. I've been waiting for a successor to Mario 64 now for over 10 years.

Generally PC has the best of it when it comes to online in FPS's and stuff. There's no touching the controls of a keyboard and mouse in those kind of games
JBG wrote:For the purist games now look better on PC than on a console. Oblivion works very well on the PS3 and 360 but if you have a very high end PC Oblivion looks mental, as you can apply far more AA (anti-aliasing) and AF (anistropic filtering) to sharpen the image over the console versions and you can also mod the game to give far better shadows and textures.
Bioshock also looks better on PC, mainly because of AF.
Unfortunately there is not that many great titles coming out on PC which are PC exclusive, Crysis and FarCry2 are the only ones off the top of my head and I have no doubt that both will end up on consoles in some shape or form.
However, for the gaming purist, playing Unreal Tournament 3, Crysis, CoD4, Far Cry 2, Alan Wake etc on a super pimped out PC on a large flat screen monitor next year will take some beating.

I say this because recently I have encounted the dreaded red ring of doom on my xbox 360 (the 3 out of four rings on my xbox starts flashing red and the xbox shuts down completely, with hardly any hope of it turning on, and even when you think you've got it working think again, its just playing with you because after an hour or so the ring of doom will haunt you again and again until you give up like yours truly and get the bastard repaired) i have been reading on forums etc to try n fix it but no chance because it's something to do with the hardware. So i will have to send it off to get repaired for £80+
basically don't do what i did and think that the basic free warranty will be the right deal for you because you think it wont happen to you, but i assure you the chances are smaller for you to have a working xbox by 2 years on from purchase

I know what your saying JBG but you also have to look at how much a top knotch PC setup will cos and also how long before it's out of date, a 360 will cost £200 and last your a good 3 years where £200 is what a semi decent graphics card alone will cost![]()
I put Unreal Tournament 2003 on my Macbook last night for the first time in ages, even though it's 4 years old it still plays and look good, I canna wait for UT3 and that is the only title that makes me slightly jeallous of PS3 owners.

Yes, while I say a top notch PC will clearly be better than a console that has only been the case for the past couple of months and such a machine would set you back three to four times the cost of the console.
The 360 is great value (provided it doesn't break) as is the PS3, albeit the PS3 is still too expensive as Sony has packed too much on board.
