With all the 360/ps3 graphic talk, does it really matter? Of corse, all the 360 only games are on the pc as well.

In all, the graphic arguement is pointless, the real arguement should be the games

Just been into Game and several other Console shops who adviced me to stay with my PS3 they told me that the reason the games take long to make is because its a complex system which is graphically brilliant and extremelly powerful, but i did have a look at the X box elite and i must say it looks bloody lovely, but several people adviced me that keeping the PS will be better in the long run as one of there customers has hit the red light on his X Box about 6 times in the last year which is an absolute discrace.

Oh well looks like im in for the long haul.

As things stand the 360 is definitely the way to go although I'd give it another couple of weeks before buying one as Microsoft are apparently releasing better quality stock now which shouldn't have the same awful hardware failure problems many 360s have had to date.

The 360 has the best games library, hands down, and will continue to do so for at least another year.

At the moment pretty much any game (Oblivion aside) has better image quality on the 360 than on the PS3 (although nothing dramatic).

If I had a PS3 I'd hang on to it as its a great value Blu Ray player and it will eventually have some good games on it, but that will not be until next year at least and as far as great games go, I think it has lost too much ground already to the 360 to ever catch up on that front.

Don't get me wrong, misty, the PS3 IS an incredible machine. If it was a case of judging it on the hardware alone there would be no problem.

Its main problem is that Sony have completed misjudged the market and have made a complete balls of it. At the moment the PS3 is still way too expensive for the average Joe Slow and average Joe Slow still isn't interested in Blu Ray. Sony could perhaps have helped made up for this if it had a large number of absolute top quality games available, but it doesn't.

If you like F1 on the PS3 try your hand at Forza Motorsport 2 and the upcoming PGR4 (out in a fortnight) which are absolute quality racers miles out of the league of Motorstorm and F1 on the PS3.

Their is Unreal Tournament 3, GT5, the next metal gear, Alan Wake, Devil May Cry, and a few others which will be out next year or just before.

If you wanna see what games are coming out and when then goto play.com and goto the coming soon page in the PS3 section, to check out HD video of the games goto gametrailers.com (you can also download the game videos really fast)  :;):

I beg anyone whose considering to purchase a xbox 360, pay for the extended warranty. I say this because recently I have encounted the dreaded red ring of doom on my xbox 360 (the 3 out of four rings on my xbox starts flashing red and the xbox shuts down completely, with hardly any hope of it turning on, and even when you think you've got it working think again, its just playing with you because after an hour or so the ring of doom will haunt you again and again until you give up like yours truly and get the bastard repaired) i have been reading on forums etc to try n fix it but no chance because it's something to do with the hardware. So i will have to send it off to get repaired for £80+

basically don't do what i did and think that the basic free warranty will be the right deal for you because you think it wont happen to you, but i assure you the chances are smaller for you to have a working xbox by 2 years on from purchase

fuck jay jays tip of the day, jays tip of the day is more useful and outdoes any jay jay tip :p

No need to do that, Microsoft have extended the warranty to three years now.

Of course. Spot on. Though I do find it tedious when people brag about how much more adanced the PS3 is compared to 360. Fact is, if there were any real difference, they'd be so minimal that you wouldn't really notice, which is the case. It's a fact that dev's are finding the 360 easier to develop for, and this is proving to be a big plus for the system. Where once franchises like Fifa and Pro Evo, GTA etc etc were PS exclusive at first, then ported to other systems later, is no longer the case. It's the other way round now, or they get released at the same date. And as you say, if it's the games that really count, as it should, then 360 is a clear winner by some bit. Though that may change when Mario Galaxy comes out. I've been waiting for a successor to Mario 64 now for over 10 years.

I'm sure the Elite is fine when it comes to RLOD syndrom. The trouble with the hardware was that it actually wasn't a hardware failure at all that was causing the red lights. It was actually the placement of the GPU on the main board. It was directly under the DVD drive, and the heat giving off from it was causing the soldering on the chip to warp and eventually break due to heating and cooling. I think the Elites have that set up different, so there shouldn't be a problem with them. Anyway, if there is one, you now get the three year's cover, so you'd have peace of mind.

Anyway, be it either a Premium or an Elite system, it's worth getting one alone for LIVE. It's so brilliantly integrated into the system that it makes all other online services look stupid. It's really the standard now that everyone else has to follow.
