Not really neil don't be disheartened i don't care that much about any consol to tell you the truth got much to do in a day, but when i have free time which is few and far between i have an hour to play a game.

That's why i can't get into those long games i just can't get the time to complete any of them, but on the other hand Paul C started it

As i said before got my PS3 for FREE, X Box graphics are not even on par in the slightest with sony's in the long run, most powerful games machine on the planet bar none.

There's no basis in fact for that statement Misty, on balance both consoles are roughly equal, claims that the PS3 is stronger are empty Sony PR speak if you ask me. Anyway, the most powerful games machine on earth is a high end PC, not a console.

Yes it is JBG well done,       I'm quite happy with Street fighter me, i would never spend major money on anything other than a PC because i can do everything on one of them. But when my wife gave me a PS3 and told me my mother in law ordered one for her neighbour and a duplicate followed i would rather have cut of my meat and two veg than turn that offer away

If the PS3 is that good why are all the PS exclusive games like Devil May Cry, etc coming to the 360, the only exclusives now are GT and Tekken, if you look at the pics of 360 vs PS3 screen shots their isn't anything in it, the GUI on the 360 is better and so is the online play, one matter being the community, Live has been going a lot longer than the PS Network and Sony will always be playing catch up, look at the price of the consoles 360 is £250 and the PS3 is £400+ which says it all really and why the PS3 isn't selling enough units.

I want a console to play games on and a PC for internet and PC type stuff, which why the 360 gets my vote.

I agree with you Paul about the Online i have played Pro Evo online and they are thievin barstewards, even tho thats probably not what you meant? but it is only banter to me my wife has a game cube and to me it's fantastic luigi's mansion is my kind of game i would own really any consol to me a games a game i had an X Box and Evil Dead was my favourite game that shows you my gaming knowledge  i just like to put wind in all up all your pro gamer sails.

The one thing i do like the Ps3 for is that you dont pay to go online and play which is ok in my book, but as i said i pretty much play consols as a part time thing so which one i have doesnt bother me at all.

I got 900 on my first go but I missed out on the two hardest ones - all the tonics and all the tape recordings - so I have started playing again on the easiest difficulty in an attempt to get them all.

I'm also playing Blue Dragon and Medal of Honour Airbourne a lot. Medal of Honour is a riot on hardest setting, one aimed bullet and you're dead meat.

Next year I'll probably get back into PC gaming. I'm buying a new house at the moment and all of my money is going into that. Next year I'll build a pimped out PC with a 30 inch Dell monitor to play Crysis and UT3.

UT3, oh I just can't wait for that game on the 360, you can't beat the UT series

Right guys can i ask you all a serious question no funny stuff PS3 V X Box weird a$$ business , On the 360 do you guys suffer game lagging? i find it a problem sometimes almost asif some cheating Barsteward is doing it on purpose, i have always owned a PS from 1 all the way to 3 but this is the first time i have been online and if this is the case i will seriously think about changing consol even tho i don't want too, I love my PS3 i think mostly cos i didn't pay for it .

Do you guys pay to go online? and one last thing i heard the 360 is compatible with xp is that true? cheers.

you do get a bit of lagging on games like gears were the person hosting
has a sh!te conection but apart from that not realy
the paying part on the 360 is you subscribe to a once a year gold membership then thats it
and yes it is compatible with the xp
i didnt pay for my 360 either i got it free when i renewed my contract phone!

That's tripe.

A sentiment ecco'd by the thousands of Sony fans the world over. It's not true. I'll explain why.

For the first time, these consoles are built around the same kind of architecture of PC brands. Seperate GPU's made by two different companies - ATI and nVidia; and seperate multi-core CPU's made by either IBM or Intel.

Now, in PC terms, it's always down the the better and more efficient GPU that produces the graphics. Same can be said for the conoles this time. All Sony's bullsh*t talk of their hyped up "Cell" processor, with it's 7 or so cores is rendered moot by it's GPU (made by nVidia) which is lacking on it's intergrated RAM. This is where 360 has an edge over the PS3. 360 has 512mb of embedded RAM directly into the core of it's GPU. This enables it to do post processing effects like anti-alaising and whatever else on the fly, without constraining the other effects. It's simply more efficient and faster because of this. Texture data is also shifted quicker.

John Carmack (creater of Doom) favours the 360 over the PS3 to devolpe on simply because the GPU makes it easier for him. Cell is a nightmare to program for. All Sony's PR talk bollox about how powerful it was undermined the fact that it doesn't make it any easier for dev's to develop on it. Carmack said it's really difficult to assign certain programming aspects like A.I and engine rendering to various cores without them conflicting with eachother. He was talking about high end Quade Core Duo's (which are much better than Cell) on PC's. These have four cores, nevermind 7. Simple fact is: there was no need to develop a processor for a console bearing in mind that the generation of it's GPU wouldn't be able to make use of it. So it's pointless. Sony hyped the tecnology up as they did with it's Emotion Engine bollox on PS2.

I've been playig games now for a little over 20 years. I don't buy the bullsh*t these companies spit out at gamers, because it's all hype to get you to believe that when you part with your money, it's for the best tech around. It's never the case.

Right now, the best console to buy for your money is the 360, and the facts are there to back that up. It's got a glut of AAA games, and more to come. The online service is unrivaled. LIVE is  amazing to game on. Even if the system is unreliable with it's three red lights disgrace, nothing else comes close and that's in almost every single department: games, online, graphics etc etc. Only thing PS3 trumps it on is multi-media functionality, which is odd considering 360 is made by the daddy of that department. You'd expect anything that can be plugged into a PC to be plugged into a 360 and work. But it doesn't

Wii, while a niche console and offering something different, isn't appealing to the hardcore gamer. It's lack of true AAA games is annoying, and asides from Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy, I can't see anything else worth getting the system for if you constantly want to play it. I have one, and it's gathering dust, and I'm saying this as a Nintendo fan because I grew up with them. It's great to see them do well, but it's not the best system out. Not by a mile.

Overall I think Sony are taking the p*ss this generation. They've made a machine that is technically brilliant, but forgot to explain to developers how it actually works. Not only this, they've seen fit to include all this great stuff that isn't really relative to the lifeblood of any console, and that's the games themselves. It's almost as if they are forcing it's cause of getting Bly-Ray into people's homes under the guise of it's Playstation brand. I see it nothing more than a cheap Blu-Ray player. It's great if you want that sort of thing; sh*t if you're an avid gamer.

In the long run, MS will eventually hold the lionshare in the industry. They are simply too big of a company to get it wrong over a long period. Xbox 1 sold well for their first effort, considering the hold Sony had, and Nintendo being in the game for as long as they have. They are slowly getting it right, and 360 is proof.

People keep banging on about how much more superior PS3 is in terms of visuals over 360. If this was true, how come not one single game looks as well as either Bioshock or Gears of War almost a year into it's release? There is just no evidence of this, simply because it's just not true. Don't believe the hype.
