How about starting a forum pub/thread where people can just post random rubbish and have a laugh and a giggle without getting too serious and for late night fanta drinkers to party on  . Somewhere to replace the Real World Thread which sadly died away . Somewhere to release the stress and pressure and somewhere to cool off - this is not a suggestion for a no holds barred thread - far from it - somewhere to get away from the flame wars etc .

Name of the pub/thread off course can be changed to whatever people think -

Somewhere to replace the Real World Thread

The introduction of the thread was technically correct, the topic name was ok, and everything started fine until that quote.

Due to the newkit rules section three, article 4, no thread which pretends to be a real world substitute will prevail.

That sentence doomed this thread. The idea was good though, as the real world wasn't just a place to post something random, it also had it's own features. It was a terrible mistake to mention this thread as a substitute.

It's on life support at the minute GYBS, I'll have a word with SS about it when he gets back from holiday, (he loggin in from the usa at the minute but don't expect the fella to attend to forum business whilst he's out there)

If it's not fixable we may have to hold a public vote on what we do next. Lock the the thread build a monument, speak of it only in hushed tones that express shock and awe and then open "The Real World Strikes Back"

or whatever.

For those that never went in there ,or just made a fleeting visit. It's greatest assest was harmony nobody took anybody else seriously and that was a kind of unwritten contract that everybody abided by.Out of close to 33000 posts there are less than a hundred that are antagonistic. Count them if you don't believe me.
