Ill give this a go, the fat burning isnt a problem but I need to build up my stamina

when i can start to run properly again ( god knows when?? ) i will give this a try and see how well it works at shifting the unwanted fat, i wonder if it would work with swimming in the same way sprint swim for 2 lenths and then slow swim 1?? don't see why it would do the same

I run 10k in about 50 mins but in a gym so no wind, uphills etc. I used to run outdoors but got knee pains as concrete much tougher on the joints than a threadmill.

I'd advise to get good runners, ask an assistant as many runners are made to be fashionable.

It isn't complicated, start off at a slow steady pace that you can breathe okay, when getting tired just slow down, if you can do 15 minutes then that is a start.

there are also good guides on internet with training plans, e.g. long run, then few days later a shorter run, then a few days later a longer run than first one etc. When I started I thought each one should be longer than the last but that isn't the case.

Running is brill i usually run outdoor four about 5 miles. On the treadmill i prefer to do interval training.. More tiring and a better workout.

Walking is good too You will work on ya stam alot more doing a some 5k walking a day.

I know it sounds strange but longer sessions of working out builds stam and shorter builds strenght.

Best way to do it is find some where you wanna go and say to ya self feck it I just walk there.

I miss having long walks they was brill.

As for running its good but make sure to get some knee supports if u thinking of doing it long term every little helps to protect that area more so if you running on hard ground.

Watch your knees and ankles if you're doing a lot of running, make sure you have decent quality footwear.

That was my mistake throughout my teens and early twenties - combination of too much running on hard surfaces and getting the sh.it hacked out of me in amateur football - now i have pain in the knees from just walking up a flight of stairs - not good at 27!!

Good post crucial that good footwear are worn.. Contrast to running when you skip its the total opposite. You need to skip on good surface..

Well I got really into the running and did my first 10k in the middle of May and done it in 46.37. Ive been training hard ever since and I'm now going to do the Dublin City Marathon on the 26th of October, I just started a 21 week training program and so far so good
