Saw "The American" last night and kind of enjoyed it.  It's not a high-octane, explosion-laden, Bourne-esque thriller.  It's very slow, rather remote and focuses a lot on building a mood through cinematography (with some gorgeous shots of the Abruzzi region of Italy) and silence.  George Clooney plays a fairly distant, inaccessible character, not his usual charming self but still effective.  The ending is a tad predictable but still enjoyable.  So, if you're not into cinematography and you like a bit more action in your suspense movies, why would you watch this I hear you ask?

Well, this actress gets her tads out.  A lot.

Watched  Joel Schumacher's new movie Twelve last night .... Its a strange little flick its narrated by the guy who done the voice over on Sin City ..but at times its intrusive.... and reminds me of the audio subtitles you sometimes have to rectify on the telly every time your Brothers or Sisters kids  have been messing with the remote ... anyway the story is loosely based on the controversial book by author Nick McDonell
my Daughter reckons the book gave much more depth to the characters .... but she watched because White Mike is played by Chace Crawford of the notoriously popular (amongst Teenagers ) Gossip girl ... I though it was ok and its worth watching for the party scene at the end ,all in all the conclusion it draws is the more money you make the more fucked up your Kids are ...

It will be brilliant. From what I've read, teh 2nd two films were made as if a tv series.. and eeing how much was missed or rushed from the book in the first film, the Fincher version could be class. Mia Rooney, who is playing Lisbeth, has massive shoes to fill tho

Very true, im just reading IMDB about it, the list of actresses that were considered is fairly impressive.

I think a certain Ms Portman if she had got the green light would have done it justice

its all politics.. the same company making Finchers The Social Network, also have 2 of its stars in its biggest franchises (Spiderman and GWTDT)

Portman might have worked but shes always said no nudity, I personally wanted Jena Malone for the part, but this gal could do ok... we'll see. hopefulyl for Fincher its more like se7en than the appalling Brad Pitt ageing backwards bull
