Anything with Jim Carrey (in a comedy movie) is just friggin hilarious

Not Yes Man. It was pure bollox. Very rarely do I stop watching films if they are that bad, but I didn't make it all the way through that one. Was terrible. Carey should retire the funny man role. Just isn't funny anymore unless he does another Ace Ventura or something.

As for "Knowing", I watched it the other night. Decent enough idea, but typical blown out Hollywood bullsh*t as per usual. It seems the only thing right those f*ckers get these days is the amazing special effects. That's it.

some of his pure comedies I can think of he was brilliant in them:

Ace Ventura
Me myself and Irene
Liar Liar
Bruce Al Mighty
Fun with Dick and Jane

Hilarious titles.

You missed out the ultimate, dumb and dumber, now that was a class film

Lloyd: What the hell are we doing here, Harry? We gotta get out of this town!
Harry: Oh yeah, and go where? Where are we gonna go?
Lloyd: I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen.
Harry: Oh, I don't know, Lloyd. The French are @ssholes.

You might recognize this song as performed by Jefferson Airplane, in a little rockumentary called "Gimme Shelter," about the Rolling Stones and their nightmare at Altamont. That night the Oakland chapter of the Hell's Angels had their way. Tonight, it's my turn.

Bad Bob wrote:Saw "Knowing" with Nicholas Cage the other night.  What an awful, awful film that was.  It's a cross between Number 23, War of the Worlds (the remake) and Armeggedon/Deep Impact but it's fromage of the highest order.  I wish I could say that it was so bad it was funny but it was mostly just cringeworthy.  3/10

I watched it yesterday and thought it was quite good.. Loved the speacial effect scenes of the plane, train crash and the ending. Even though the beggining 20 mins dragged i still found the film fairly good. Found the plot very interesting and the ending was different as to deep impact/armageddon with a great incentive.
Cool movie 8/10!!!

the number 23 is awful dude, sorry but its awful. Careys best 2 films by far are The Truman Show and Man on the moon. Man on the moon is genius.

no offense taken Daws :D the number 23 reminds me of a Johnny Depp movie - the secret window.

Probably done this before but as we seem to be talking about the merits of a particular actors work (again), forget the reviews and the hype, even if you thought their last movie was sh'ite, what actors name on the billing is enough to make you want to see their latest movie, purely for the pleasure of their performance  ?.

For me it's still old school with , Anthony Hopkins, Ralph Fiennes, Jack Nicholson , Al Pacino and Jodie Foster.

Not really any for me anymore. Used to be Norton and Pacino non stop, but lately they have had some poor films. Maybe Nicholson and i'll always rewatch a McQueen film
