Is right, Liverpool FC is my religion. That may sound blasphemous to some, but I'm sure a lot of us feel the same way.

And winning the champions league is heaven!! So we're in heaven and we aint even dead yet!!

religion is useful for law and order, do good (by their definition) or you'll go to hell, for crusades (if you conquer this land you'll go to heaven, don't be afraid to die) or even modern day war (God is our side etc)

My dad was told by a priest in the 1940s to stand there and mind his horse while the priest was in the shop, my dad (a boy of about 10) said that he didnt want to, the priest said to do it or he'd glue him to the spot (using the magic powers a priest had) to which my dad replied "why don't you glue the horse to the spot then!"

However, people do seem to worship Alcohol a lot!

Please enlighten me!

Yeah that's true mate, people lurrve the alcohol! :D

But if you didn't realise softie, the mainstream faith is Christianity. You know....................the religion that's being stripped down to accomodate a foreign faith.

Ok, fair enough Christianity!!

But do you go to church Wrighty, if so how often? If not, when was the last time you went? (Pls be honest matey! I am always honest :D)

There is no faith in this country (IMO), and I mean this when you compare to other 'christian countries' around the world, be it Europe, Africa, South America and even the Far East.
Even the Christians in Egypt are serious about there faith.
Dont get me wrong there are those do worship in this country, but they are the last of a dying breed, youngdters today are not interested AT ALL, yet their muslim counterparts will be found in the Mosque on a Friday, and probably going to Arabic school on a Saturday (this is mainly for Asian/African children, so they can understand the Qu'ran properly!).

Go and find out about what the 'church' are now doing to entice youngsters to go to church, you will be very surprised, it is the Priests/Bishops/Cardinals etc; that are 'stripping down' the faith as you put it, NOT other religions. This is the problem, you are blaming others for your own problems!!

I often wonder if it is the case that people are jealous of others dedication to their religion.

Alcohol, is clearly the 'God' of this country!

misguided, I'm afraid. Muslems come across as brainwashed sometimes. It seems to appear that their life revolves around worshipping their god. Nothing wrong in believing in something but sometimes I feel the children are forced to go. Almost as if it is a desperate fight against succumbing to the daily grind of western society.

I'm not saying all of them because that would be unfair. I believe you are talking about a section of Christianity called the anglican church which I belong to. Yes I'm religious, I believe in God. On the other hand, as corrupt as I think it is another branch of Christianity, the Catholic church has very avid followers who have the same zeal as our moslem friends.

Oh yeah, if you are insinuating that I am jealous of other religions, I am not. Otherwise I would convert to Hebrew or Scientology!

Sorry for the late reply, havn'e been in the gen chat section for a while!

why not all join a trendy religion like kaballah, if celeb to$$ers like Madonna and Beckham do it. you don't even have to read the book, the magic writings go into you via your hand. you also get a trendy wrist band - demons can't fight the power of a wrist band. a used car salesman started that religion off.

Either that or scientology which a science fiction writer made up. I mean so many celebs pick that now so it must be right.

Budissm is so 1990s (when will richard gere get the message) and is now out of fashion in hollywood. Keep an eye out for the 2006 religion as ther might be a sale on.

'Late reply' no probs wrighty :D

But for you to say that Catholics and Muslims are a bit alike is just silly really, seems as though anything other than 'Anglican' and you will say this. The attitude you have about muslims is no different than they have of christians, everybody (religious types) will be like this for their own religion. Its justb like footy, we support LFC, and feel that every other team is sh.it etc;...No different!

Also are you saying that you firstly went to church under your own willpower? YOU chose to take holy communion yourself did you? Of course you didnt, your parents guided you by what they believe was right (assumption!). So once again you are no different from your muslim counterparts IMO!

I agree with you that some muslims can seem to be brainwashed (and I noted you did say not all are the same!) but from my own experience from my schooling, believe me there are some seriously brainwashed Christians out there too!
One thing though, you will not find an 'Elder' in the muslim faith, playing with little boys, I am sure he would find a swift death as should be the case for the priests that do that vile behaviour here, America and through Europe, but yet they seem to get away with it, and 9/10 times are not even prosecuted.
To me this shows, that these people are not religious, but act like they are, and TBH I think this is why a lot of Muslims dont like western society, they say one thing, yet in private do and say the complete opposite.

As for the 'insinuating' business, I was insinuating that, but not at you Wrighty, just for people and society as a whole. Also let me add, it was just a thought, nothing more really, not as if I have heard people say this or that there is evidence to show this, just trying to find answers to my own questions really mate!

No but you will find extremist Imams telling their followers to blow up everything western, and its ok to fly planes into buildings, that they will meet 16 virgins and become martyrs when in truth they will be joining satan himself.
The catholic church have interfered with young boys that is no secret, and one I detest, but I also detest the hatefull preaching that says all muslims much carry out jihad against the west in the name of Allah, when its not in the name of Allah its in the name of sh1thouses who are brain washed b@stards. Good and bad all over the world in every faith and religion.

Fair point (to a point, but TBH cant be a.rsed countering you! :D) and one I knew was going to be brought up, but little boys is all I need to say! They didnt ask for what happened to them, whereas you could argue the West (mainly America, but here too with 7/7 {if you believe that of course}) have asked for the trouble they get, what with random entering of countries and using brute force to bully people or help people (Israel!).....But I said I wouldnt counter (see how hard it is for me eh?  Just gotta say whats on me mind like (Bold bit said in a scouse accent!! :D)  so I am going to stop now!!

This thread started off as a nice gesture and greeting for our Muslim members (whoever they may be!) and has turned out to get political and religious. Madness how threads take on a life of their own  :D

The jews went through enough under Hitler as did the Polish, all dictators are evil people, but people are people no matter what colour or creed they are.
Ive seen your views on these things before and it doesnt make you very popular in my eyes cause you sound like an extremist in your views if Im honest.

What has all this got to do with the celebration of Eid ? Why does every thread become a slating or free for all dig. There is good and bad in all faiths, in all society in all cultures and creeds. No one is superior, we are all equal in the eyes of God. If you choose not to believe, then hey enjoy this life cos they ain't nowt after .. :D

All faiths are grounded in the concept of humanity, it's the practise and application that differs and is open to interpretation. We each of us have to find our own way, guided sometime by the guided or mis-guided.

People of any faith do sustain faith through choice. Having faith is not a sign of weakness but a source of strength for many in facing whatever life throws. Belief in the unseen is also a test of faith, for the one question, one may ask is.. is anything around us for real :D Life is a test of endurance, resolve, compassion and above all our ability to care for and share with other beings; parents, partners, relations, friends and perhaps most of all our children. Faith is for many a guide for endurance.

WTF the Polish...what the hell are you talking about now FFS :no

Look I tried to diffuse this with my last post really, but you obviously have a problem here and with the issues in this thread..fair enough but dont take it out on me, it really is pointless trying to converse with you, I should have known better!

'Extremist', why becuase i dont 'tow' the line?  Funny, how when I offer a link to a video of blatant evidence for some of the things I say (such as video of company saying on LIVE british televison{ITN News}, that they were doing a drill at the EXACT same time as the 7/7 bombings, in the underground network, at the SAME station, on behalf of an 'unnamed' company ie; the government!) you are nowhere to be seen.

So now I have 'extremists' views, it just gets better and better around here!
Well, sorry, I will say what I think, and I dont care if that is against the general concensus, something most people on here are frightened (by people like yourself!) to do!

Worst thing is I have heard you talk about 'that 9/11, bit dodgy though isnt it, when you see the evidence' FFS woman, make up your mind!

PS- I didnt say they 'deserve' it, I said an argument can be made to the reasons being caused by the so called 'victims' themselves. Simple example, 1Million people marched against the war (and YES I was one of them, were you?) and they still went to Iraq?  Does this make it easier to understand, it isnt the everyday people, like you and I, the are the cause, but the Government.
But anyway, I could get into this all day and write a heap, which of course you wont read, and TBH this thread has run its course for me, as I said in my previous post, it was started as a nice gesture (which you may not appreciate!) and look where it is now!!
