Feck it - New Zealand are head and shoulders above every team in the world at the minute. Their second string would beat most other teams - but it's great to be able to hang on to their history of messing it up.

If somebody could knock them out then there's no reason why Ireland couldn't win the competition. We could beat any of the other contenders - France, Australia or South Africa.

It's a pity our qualifying group is so tough - Argentina are no walkover, and it means we cant afford to peak later in the tournament.

Yes, i like Rugby, but because there isn't too much of it going on here in our country (Philippines) , and only one channel covers it.. i really can't keep up on what's happening specially on the Six Nations and the R. Union..

and i miss the Scottish Rugby team....:(  :(

Like Rugby Union but I hate rugby league. I do like watching the 6 nations. Also I only really understand the rules in Union.

Now are playing Ireland and Scotland. Then, Italy and Wales. I go to see it to a pub.

As peewee said, you are talking about 2 different types of Rugby

RUGBY LEAGUE -
Played in the UK, New Zealand & Australia. This means that the international competition for this is quite limited. The strongest club league is in Australia (NRL) followed by UK.

Rugby Union -
Played in South Africa, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Great Britian, Italy, France, with a few minnows around like Canada, Japan, USA, etc.
This means that international competition for Union is far stronger. The world cup for Rugby has generally very good standard of competition. Incidentally Rugby Union is said to have begun when an english school boy could not be bothered using his feet in football, but rather picked up the ball and started running, William Ellis.

Few things you need to know about Rugby Union
- Australia are Best
- New Zealand absolutly destroy everyone else, except when it counts
- England have one player - Jonny
- South Africa, dirty cheating b@stards (just joking)
- Ireland never give up

If you need more info i suggest you get a biased view from another member on here called LFC#1 or visit this website

Iv got to disagree with one of your points there,I dont think Australia are the best.I think Ireland are, they beat Australia. They beat South Africa,England,Wales and should have beat France.  :upside:

Anybody saw the games today??

Ireland go to the top of the mountain!!! Was too difficult to win to Scotland (19-18). O'Gara played very well.

Then, the game of Italy and Wales. Finally Italy win in the last minutes. Was interesting too.

It was a bit confusing at the end of the Italy v Wales match. Ref said they could play for the line-out but then he blew the whistle. :D

much improved display from england today. looking at france though, i still can't believe they beat ireland a few weeks back, even though ireland struggled somewhat against scotland yesterday.

just watch the press go way over the top tomorrow now that england have put in a half decent display. we've still got a long long way to go before we're even close to being the top team in britain, let alone the northern hemisphere or the world.
