Agreed Taff: Life of Pi is excellent.

1442 is wildly entertaining for a history book.

I highly recommend the Dante Club. Extremely well written.

I read history books mostly, although I'm partial to a decent novel.

I've read the Bible Code by Drosnin.  I'd recommend it but just so you put your mind at rest.

It's "backed up" by a mathematical paper that seems to back the numbers up but I have some basic problems with it: Drosnin is Jewish himself and all the neo-cons stateside are actively pursuing a judaeo-cristian warrior/prophecy fulfillment "good guys"; it states in some places such nonsense amounting to Sharon and Bush bringing peace to the middle east.

The only way that is going to come about is if they finally let off the atom bombs they've sold to their "stable democracy" (to be read as siphoning client state).
