I remember that thunderbolt he scored in Porto when they had to score to progress to the semis. He also scored a fairly decent freekick against Arsenal and finished off an amazing team move with Rooney at the Emirates. Fairly sure he scored against Inter Milan, Roma and AC Milan, too. Come to think of it, wasn't he the champions league top scorer the season they won it?   Other than that I suppose he doesn't deliver on the big stage

Look at how many goals he has scored in his career against LFC,Arsenal,Chelsea -  of course you can remember the odd good goal - what does that prove?

I'm fed up of been proven right.

I said

(1) ronaldo is the big man for the little occasion and goes missing in the big games (bar one header in CL final followed up by a penalty miss)

(2) Torres should be dropped, he is clearly rubbish right now - not fit

(3) England would lose against the first big team  they play

(4) brazil,argentina,germany,spain would make the later stages and after the first week I said Uruguay would make the Semis

(5) Gerrard and Lampard is a diabolical combination and a major problem, neither of them can do the job of a regular midfielder.

Okay - I expected England to win their group, go into the  easy half of the draw and meet France in the quarters but that just keeps me humble(ish)
