International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

I honestly cannot see how anyone can beat Brazil, to me it is their competition to lose. The partnership of Felipe Melo and Gilberto Silva is frightening, I would hate to be an opposition midfielder or striker trying to breakthrough that barrier, it's near enough impossible.

I also like how Ferguson comes out after South American domination so far of this WC only to inform the world that it will be  South American triumph this summer. Yes, Fergie cheers for that prediction, what's your middle name? Nostradamus? It tends to go between Europe and South America every four years, for some strange reason.

Given the nature of North Korea's performance in their last match, I wouldn't put it past Ivory Coast not to score a further eight or maybe I just want to see a few Africans teams advance to the second round?

Tiago booked for diving.  Colour me shocked that the Portuguese would resort to such tactics. :glare:

It's quite boring, like watching an exhibition match.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Drogba just took the p!ss out of 2 Koreans on their own goal-line and then berated his teammates for not making the run.  :D

And Gervinho (Ivory Coast) should have made it 3-0.  Come on you lot, score a shedload and get Portugal dumped out of the comp!

Portugal are set up to make life very difficult Brazil, I think Carlos is hoping for a draw and for that reason I hope Brazil smash four past them.

Getting a little card happy in the Bra-Por game.  I'll be surprised if it's 11 v. 11 at FT.

Hahaha, Ronaldo selfishly goes for goal from miles out with his teammates in much better positions on the counter.  What a tw.at. :D

Ronaldo can never be considered a true great of football until he sorts out his attitude problem. Everytime the opposition makes life difficult for him he throws a wobbler and starts whinging, it's the same with Torres. Two fantastic players who let their emotions get the better of them, same with Wayne Rooney. It angers me to be honest, I hate the way players continually moan to the referee and call for "protection". Players of Torres and Ronaldo's ilk need to accept that defenders will do whatever they deem necessary to contain such players from embarrassing them and running riot. If they spent the time they spend moaning on actually focusing on breaking down stubborn defences, they'd probably find a way through.

Great run by Ronaldo and Raul Meireles should have tucked that chance away, Brazil very fortunate to get away with that.

Its not a good games lads. The players lost control in the first 1/2 with 7 booked, now everyones just tiptoeing around and would be happy with a 0-0 draw.

What a terrible match, that's the last time I over-hype a game, that's for sure.

The ref completely ruined that match.. all those bookings just made the game dull and cautious.

Look the only team that has the aristry and is truly gifted is Argentina.. despite the defense being the slight weakness, it ain't all that, they are too strong !

Brazil - Defensively they may be strong, but no penetration no strength in depth, no flare players.. and in Portungal -Ronaldo was pi'ssed big time, he ain't got no-one to feed off

The best players, the most exciting and entertainment on and off the field too ..  It is Argentina's to lose..  :buttrock
