Well screw this, I think this is a worse result for Chile than it is for Spain.

A banner day for the Swiss people, who head high into the mountains to, erm, celebrate. :D

When I saw the group I thought Chile and Spain would qualify as Switzerland are a talentless bunch but at the back of my mind was the Hitzfeld factor. He's a very experienced manager domestically and in Europe, whose team you wouldn't expect to get turned over easily, and we all know that a team doesn't have to be talented to be well drilled and hard to break down.

What a shock. Have a feeling this could turn out to be another Euro 2004. The prospect of an outsider winning it is quite nice actually.

It would be fantastic if that happened, but I highly doubt it. I still expect either Brazil or Germany to win the competition. I doubt Spain or Argentina, France or Italy will do well this year and I am not entirely sure how England will fair.

I think Chile, Uruguay and South Korea are the teams to watch out for.

Time will tell. I think as we get into the 2nd round of group games we will see teams more gung ho, especially teams that dropped points in the first round.
