the point is that every team that has managed to win their resp. countries
league have had a excellent free kick taker who could (or still can) score 7 to 10 goals a season 4m them. These extra  goals would surely go  a long way in our push towards the title.

What about Chelsea then?  No free kick specialist and they won the league last year and are on course for it this year.

You're talking nonsense mate, none of those players you've mentioned have scored 10 free kicks in a season in their lives.

4 or 5 max would be more realistic

go to your control panel page and change it from there...and no I don't agree that we need to go all out and buy a freekick specialist. If any of our new signings can take a good freekick, all the better. Else will be satisfied with Gerrard, Xabi, Nando, Riise and Hamann to have a crack. Maybe Xabi can improve on his (already good) deadball skills

Buying a free kick specialist is pointless, buying a good player who happens to be a free kick specialist wouldn't be bad, but then again buying a good player who isn't good at free kicks wouldn't be bad either.

I think we have enough variation offerred by Gerrard, Alonso, Riise, Kewell and Hamman.  We can talk about free kick conversion rates and I am sure the lad at Lyon has a comparitively high one but you just have to accept that as a general rule of thumb, a player is going to miss or have saved more free kicks than he scores.

Having said that, I am sure the free kick conversion rate has increased over the last few years, what with the lighter footballs.  I remember those balls they used in the 94 world cup that moved more in the air.

All these players that have been mentioned usually curl the ball etc. Why dont we just get gerrard or riise to run and smack it, jimmy case style (no 2 touch cr@p). Often the ladies in the wall don't want to get hit and move out the way.

how stupid do u think i am .... when i say a free kick specialist i mean a  good player who is also good at bulging the back of the net also.I have already answered this .... read the  1st page .

redsince2001, shame on them for toying you around when it is clearly obvious that you have a top notch football brain.

Why not apply for a post as a scout at Anfield and put forward your ideas. You can surely improve the squad, with your intelligent input and all.
