I think its easier to say what Owen is better at . Movement, clinical fox in the box finishing and possibly as a big game player. Everything else I would say Torres is at least as good as Owen if not better.

As a big game player Torres hasn't really had the chances yet so thats still to be answered. Rafa was saying the other day that Torres needs to work hard on his finishing, so that may be something that will improve, as hopefully will his movement as he settles into the Prem.

I think at the moment Torres is proving to be almost everything we could wish for in a striker, so I am happy with what we have got.

I REALLLLLLY wish Torres would have scored on that one on one against Inter, it was a great save and don't think he did terribly but he still could have done better with possibly getting the ball higher up or trying to fake the keeper out, probably would have been too risky to run around him though. Anyway would have helped his big game rep by loads, and we would be 3-0 up.

I think him scoring against Chelsea in i think it was his 2nd league game was pretty big and his goals in the last two games of the group stages were important.  The fulham and tottenham goals were right at the death and he didn't play in either of our domestic up losses

I would say that at his best and fully fit, I would prefer Michael Owen.
However, it's still far too soon to say that we've seen the very best of Fernando Torres as yet.

Potentially I think he could be much, much better... but based on current track record, I would Pick Owen.

Now if only he hadn't been such a tw@t in abandoning us and if only if he wasn't perpetually injured. :D

IMHO Owen in his prime was streets ahead of Torres, as was Fowler and Kenny.

But these are early days and Torres could feasibly be as influential over the next couple of seasons.

Torres Netting his 3rd hatrick of the season brining his tally up to 24 in total. Pretty impressive

I like Torres's attitude and personality more than owen.

Owen maybe better than Torres in different areas, but I think as an all around player Torres is better.

It's early days but I'm already thinking that Torres has got a lot more guile to his game than Owen ever had. Give Torres a few more seasons, if he carries on the way he's started he'll overshadow Michaels reputation.

Owen.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Agreed, attribute-wise he's got more going for him than Owen had.

Owen was as passionate as could be. Torres will prob always be A.Madrid through and through but deffo doesn't lack heart. On ability Torres already and he is still getting better.
