Mark Gonzalez, if more of Raffa's youngsters turn out good people might have a bit more faith in the ones he still has.

The one player I really wanted to flourish was Erik Meijer ,a total Liverpool nut who would willingly  shed blood for the cause ,met him a few times at different venues and he deserves his tag Erik The Red .
So implicitly for his devotion to the Club ,I wanted him more than all the others mentioned to succeed ,but if I had to pick someone purely on his potential and ability  it would have to  be Cisse ,I really thought he would provide the missing piece of the mythical jigsaw

Morientes and Litmanen, Both not used correctly or enough IMO. Could and should have been top class players for the club. Harry Kewell to a certain extent because he wasnt as good for us as he was for Leeds but he had 2 great seasons(03/04 & 05/06) and 1 decent season (04/05) for us so i dont class him as a complete failure.

Morientes for me. If he reached his potential here we'd have had no real striker problem for a while.

I was gonna say Kewell but getting him to a high level wasn't the problem, it was getting him on the fecking pitch
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I agree with Nanny about Jari, absolutely legend of a player who never quite clicked/got a fair crack of the whip.

Another player not on the list who I think cwould have become a legend was Vegard Heggem, he was a brilliant right back very similar to Glen Johnson is speed and dribbling etc but got injured a few times and never recovered.  :sniffle

What was the name of the defender way back when, Rob Jones ? Always thought he was a class player, whose career was cut short by injury...
