this is going to be a very interesting poll. there are arguments for and against each of the above. on a radio poll yesterday maradonna won it even though he's a cheating b#st#rd.

with modern day football being so much faster than the old days, zidane and henry might get votes. platini and cryuff were just brilliant. maradonna single-handedly won a world cup. pele was a genius but never played in europe.

got to say Maradonna i haven't seen some of the older one's much so between the newer one's it's between Maradonna and Zidane. Diego was a genius. God help him!

Pele was great no doubt .
Maradona..pity about the drugs but he will always
be remembered for the (fist)handball goal .

I've gone for Zidane he is unbelieveable....I'm sure when he retires
he will be best ever.

Pele's streets ahead of anyone !!!!!! Zen's a decent player no doubt but come on , he is nowhere near Pele , the closest to Pele was Maradonna but flawed genius as was Best.

Id have to go Maradona...I think in Peles day football was a lot more relaxed maybe..Maradona had some rough times if i remember right .Who said one man doesnt make a team...

i didn't put best on the list, even though he was a genius, because he never played in a world cup where he could really showcase his talents.

Pele's goal scoring record speaks for itself, Maradona was probably a better dribbler than Pele, but Pele no1. Cruyff was also brilliant with the Dutch when they played "total football".

Diego Maradona, the ball was like it was glued to his boots, he could score from anywhere. He could take the whole team on and then score a sublime goal.....hang on, where have I seen......?

The only way to get him off the ball was to kick the little ba#ta#d all over the place. It usually happened. I've got a DVD of his career. I think he's the greatest ever. No doubts.

i have to vote that we kick maradona off of this list because:
a: hes a cocaine addict, who knows what drugs the guy was on while he was playing, and those things improve your game... and
b: he scored a hand ball against us and is a cheater :P
