Our next 4 games, rolling predictions

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Reg » Tue Sep 13, 2016 8:10 am

To continue the discussion from last season trying to predict how our next few games will pan out, below are the next 4 league games. Two tough top 4 games, a difficult to beat Hull side and unpredictable Swansea.

If we have designs on the top 4 we have to go for maximum points in all 4, but definitely have to win the two lesser games and get 4 out of 6 against the Chavs and Manc b'stards to put us into a strong top 4 position come mid October.

My predictions as follows for a possible 10/12 points:

17 Sep - Chelsea   vs  Liverpool    - D
24 Sep - Liverpool vs Hull City      - W
01 Oct - Swansea  vs  Liverpool    - W
18 Oct - Liverpool  vs Man United - W

Can we go a a bit of a run and win all four ? Not beyond the realms of possibility.

Hope I'm wrong, but realistically I'm thinking

17 Sep - Chelsea   vs  Liverpool    -  L
24 Sep - Liverpool vs Hull City      - W
01 Oct - Swansea  vs  Liverpool    - W
18 Oct - Liverpool  vs Man United - D

On the other hand we're just as capable of beating both Chelsea and United only to drop points against either Hull or Swansea  :p

A convincing performance against the Chavs will see us built up a bit of a run. However, the Manure game has draw written all over it.

I'm going for the optimistic

17 Sep - Chelsea   vs  Liverpool    -  W
24 Sep - Liverpool vs Hull City      - W
01 Oct - Swansea  vs  Liverpool    - W
18 Oct - Liverpool  vs Man United - D

We'll probably hammer Chelsea and Man Utd 5-0 a peice and then lose to Hull

Chelsea- D
Hull-W
Swansea-W
Man utd-W

Thats what i would expect from a consistent Liverpool.

However even the following is possible with us unless we stop our inconsistent form.

Chelsea- W
Hull-L
Swansea-L
Man utd-W

Would be typical of us to dispatch Chelsea and follow that up with a defeat at Swansea

Chelsea - D
Hull - W
Swansea - W
Man Utd - D

I think that's attainable but knowing us we'll win the difficult games and go on to drop stupid points

You are all thinking it, but you are not prepared to admit it:

Chelsea - W - we'll trash them
Hull - D - we'll pepper their goal and wonder how we didn't win
Swansea - L - on the back of two great performances we'll refuse to recognise what will surely happen and lose by 2, with the papers all writing about the worst ever Liverpool performance since the last worst ever Liverpool performance
Man Utd - W - because we are boss in the big games

Two games we should be winning up next. Hull and Swansea. These are the kind of games that will show how far we have got. Win those two and it will have been an excellent start to the season and will leave us well placed going into the international break.

The only team that are playing better than us at the moment are Man City imo. As a unit, they look on a different level to everyone to be honest but carry on the way we our and dispatch the likes of Hull and Swansea in our next games, we wont be too far off

On a side note, i really dont understand how we lost to Burnley. They are fookin appalling

This is a huge chance now for us to show we have changed. We won't be the typical inconsistent Liverpool. We must get positive results vs Hull and Swansea.

Next 4 games will be our most challenging, yet. The Manure derby usually results in a bore draw and Palace are our bogey team in recent years. So I'm going for two wins and two draws...

Liverpool vs Man United DRAW
Liverpool vs West Brom WIN
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool DRAW
Liverpool vs Watford WIN

International break has come at the wrong time for us what with the momentum being with us but suppose there's never a good time when it comes to international breaks
