Bellingham always felt a non starter once Madrid's interest got serious. Throw in missing out on the CL and the need for multiple players, it was never really likely we were going to throw that big a fee on just one player this summer. That's before the wages that are being talked about.

Reading that we agreed terms with Thurman, he certainly is an all energy player that will complement a thinker like Mac Allister. As for  Bellingham, I think the way we are going is the way to go. We cannot blow our budget and pin all our hopes on a 20 year old. We should have got him when he was cheaper but that ship sailed. A Klopp team is all about chemistry and that is what it seems we are building.

Watching Thuram’s YouTube clip, he carries the ball very well, runs all over and is brave in his play. I hope we get him as he will give the energy and dynamism we have been missing.

I think it does make more sense to sign Mac Allister, Thuram, and then one of Kone/Viega/Gravenberch, for roughly the same money and wages it would cost to get Bellingham. We need several players so blowing our budget on one player doesn't make much sense. If he does his ACL in pre-season we'd be back to square one.

Just watching Kone and he really plays like Thuram. High energy, good dribbler and brave, also both are big and have about the same pass completion percentage. Not sure if having two of that type will work or if it is a genius move putting two very energetic flair type box to box midfielders and a steady and calm player with vision between them. Happy to think our midfield will look so different next year.

Agreed. 3 of our midfielders have left, Thiago will leave next season and Hendo and even Fab are past it. Our midfield needs a complete overhaul so we can't really afford to spend everything on just one player.

Was never convinced Bellingham is worth that much either tbh. Great young player for sure but not for that money IMO.

Argentina are a TEAM. He was part of that TEAM. The TEAM won the World Cup so yeah, he actually did contribute to the TEAM achievement. why you have to be so negative I've no idea, is it because we didn't pay £120m for him? If you can't see the bigger picture here on what Klopp is building then you need to take your blinkers off and have a good look. He's come to be part of our TEAM because he's good at that, hence the World Cup medal hanging from his neck.

The U21 European Championship runs from June 21 to July 8. We've been linked with Thuram, Kone, Gravenberch, Veiga, Lavia, and Micky van de Ven. All will probably will be there. Will be interesting to see if we tie up any deals before the tournament kicks off next week.

A bit of an insight to the changes in next seasons CL. Seems like 5th place could be getting a qualifying spot depending on how the other English clubs get on in Europe that year.

I think we have a better shot of getting back in via that route over winning the Europa. It mentions we are favourites to win it

I'd like us to win the Europa regardless though. I think it's the only throphy Klopp hasn't won with us.

Apparently this upcoming seasons Europa league final is going to be held in Dublin which would pretty much make it a home game given our terrific Irish support, not many teams could play Celtic in Dublin and have two thirds of the stadium.
We should take this competition seriously and pull out all the stops to try and get there for all sorts of not just footballing but cultural and historical reasons too.

When is the draw for the Europa anyway ? Prem fixtures due in a couple of days I think

I see we sent Calvin Ramsey out on loan to Preston. Why ? Thought this lad was a top talent so why are we loaning him out without him having been given a chance.

Not sure when we get involved but the EL draws are listed as follows mate -
Third qualifying round: 24 July 2023
Play-off round: 7 August 2023
Group stage: 1 September 2023

Re Ramsay, yeah I liked the look of him too mate but he is very young, hasn’t played an awful lot of footy and has been injured so maybe Jurgen feels a year out on loan getting regular competitive football may do him the world of good.
It will be interesting to see if that Bradley goes out on loan again or wether his performances have earned him a place in our playing squad for this season
