Done some more reading, he seems very injury prone and only has 18 months left on his contract, 50 million euros seems a lot for someone with a short contract left

Unfortunately when commenting on the reports in the German media linking us with a move for Gotze Bayern's DoF Matts Sammer said  'with every day comes new rubbish'.
Doesn't sound too promising that.

Daily Express reporting it also, but the summer seems to be more likely (if at all)

Too be honest I haven't seen him play either apart from the World Cup final. He came on and scored that wonderful winning goal.

He doesn't play much for Bayern. Couldn't get in the side last year when Robben and Ribery were both injured so it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to leave and come and play for Klopp again. With 12 months left on his contract from this summer it's not unrealistic.

He is a skillful playmaker in the mould of robben, Ribery, Carzola, etc...But lacks abit of finishing IMO. He would definitely improve on what we have, better than Firmino,Lallana etc. But he would also be costly and not where we need to strengthen.

Have seen a bit of him.
A bit too lightweight and moody but got some skill. Worth at most 20-25 imo.

I'd take Banega, Feghouli and Kokorin on free. Banega is only 27 and would add some real quality to our midfield. Classy player. Feghouli and Kokorin are both wanted by the top clubs in the league but there are many similar players so I wouldnt think they would be that big a miss. Lavezzi and someone like Barzagli would be good short term options to add a bit of experience to the squad.

Banega:

With regards to the players we have been linked to, we wont get Gotze because he's too high profile for the club. Subotic is more plausible but I still think we'd struggle to match offers from other interested clubs. Ranocchia, young plish keeper, etc. I'm not too excited about. Hopefully we get a couple of decent players in this window then focus on spending big on one or two big targets in the summer.

I was gutted when it was rumoured the Bitterz were In for Banega ,quality midfielder always seems to find the space to pick a pass . Another midfielder I always thought stood out as a class act from watching the Dutch League  was Uruguays Lodeiro ,but he's known to take no prisoners in the tackle and for being a real firebrand ,although having the same appetite for the game as Suarez might not be a bad thing at the minute.

I'd bring the lad in and look to ship out Lallana or Firmino if the money was good enough..

Gotze is world class and has been quoted in the press saying his future is uncertain and he's open to working with Klopp again. He only has 17 months left on his deal but would command £30+ million. How much would we get for Lallana or Firmino?

About 53p each or a solid pound for the pair.

I reckon we could easily get back £10-£12million for Lallana, and about £10 million for Firmino. It's a big loss on both but that was Bodgers bad Judgement. Bring in Gotze and watch him and Coutinho blossom.

Pato rumours resurfacing again today.. it says £11 million is the asking price.

Would move one of them on for the highest fee...would look to bring Pato in on loan though. Too many question marks over his post-injury form and fitness.
