AVB will get them playing well but hopefully, they will have dropped a good few points between now and Xmas. Enough to make their CL chase very hard.

Spurs are a bubble waiting to burst IMO. I don't rate AVB at all. It's also well known how many games Spurs won just because of an 80+ minute Bale strike from 30 yards out. They haven't been able to score a single goal from open play in 3 games so far - they'll miss Bale and even with all that spending, they'll end in 6th

In other news, Arsenal seal a 43 million pound (50 million euros) deal for Ozil.

Now he is a fantastic player. Could be one of the buys of the season. However, they really need to strengthen at the back and without this could lose out to spurs or even us in the league this year

ozil is a quality player and one i think will do well in the prem.
that keeper arsenal have is a disaster and im surprised he didnt at least try for reina. sorting their goalkeeper would be the best business they could do before the window closes.

I agree with you on the AVB front and have said it on here before. 1/2 the time I don't think he believes he can do it himself. With all that spend, he'd better deliver fast and I've a feeling they'll struggle to gel too....could be the first high profile sacking of the season.

Wouldn't write Spurs off just yet. Quality always shines through at the end

Juan Mata, twitter latest... lol :D

According to several large Twitter accounts Mata is moving to Liverpool and there is a solid bid on the table.

I can confirm that Chelsea has received several informal enquiries about Mata today and for the last few days. One of them was from Liverpool. In fact, Liverpool are the club that would be furthest along in any sort of deal with a bid submitted.

The bid was believed to be roughly £25 million. HOWEVER:

These are the things I can confirm:

1) The bid is nowhere near Chelsea's valuation of the player. IF they were to let him go it would need a bid of at least £35 million + add ons.

2) Mata has NO interest in joining Liverpool full time.

3) A loan is the only possible move, but that is still highly unlikely.

4) Mata is set on staying at the Bridge, but wants first-team assurances.

To sum up - while some of the things going around about Mata are true, the accounts claiming that he'll sign are not correct to the best of my knowledge and this IS a trusted source.

Other twitter rumours (ben smith bbc) is that we have enquired Real Madrid about Di Maria. If we pull off either him or Mata I'll be the happiest man on the planet.

di maria  :eyebrow  mata  :oh:
if we were to land both of them it would be some coup  :nod  i do feel suarez would be part of a deal for di maria though.
those 2 signings would put us well in the hunt this season  :nod
