Where did you get those figures from ?

Our wage bill going up by £20mil a year ?

Who has done the "projection" ? Official figures ? Doesn't seem to include the extra television revenue the clubs are getting since the renewal of the contracts

£500mil debt ? That figure seems to have increased since the £260-270mil that we owed RBS.

Like I said in my other post - there are a group that don't have a problem with what the owners are doing to the club - when we miss out again on CL for another season maybe they might wake up. We will not make the CL with these owners - and I am happy to put money on that.

My mistake, wrong currency sign - read $500M.

Otherwise a handy summarisation of the accounts is found here - http://www.theliverpoolword.com/2013/04 ... e-numbers/

Our accounts are clear - we spend more than we receive. Our debt reduction is ongoing and the positive from those accounts is they are one year behind, the next statement next year will look much heathier. Partly due to expenditure reduction by way of wage bill reduction.

So it doesn't have the increase of the telly money then  and you say this years accounts will look positive - lets celebrate that the books look positive whilst the team struggles around mid table.

I have read the article before and it's full of presumptions and guess work for this years figures. It's not the official figures and seen it been dismissed by many ( not on Rawk off course )

We are a football club looking to be successful - the owners have more interest in balancing the books. They give the club money to spend but it's a loan !

The sooner they leave the better IMO - we won't get anywhere with them - they banked on FFP working and it won't

one thing whats happening at spurs does is end this myth that top players wont sign for teams outside the CL.
if you look like a club with ambition top players will buy into that

Agreed. Also all the players they have signed were all 'gettable' for us and there would have been no issue with them not wanting to come. The bids for Mkhitaryan, Willian, Costa show we have £20m+ to spend on the right player. It's difficult though, I think the likes of Man City, Chelsea, PSG are gobbling up the very best players leaving a dogfight for the players in the next bracket

thats exactly it, even though spurs are funding this through the bale money they have taken on some serious wage bill.
i read this quote earlier and i thought the lad who wrote it summed it up perfectly.

"FSG'S spending is there perogative, They can do what they wish. But don't bang on about top 4 and winning titles and then hide in the corner when it comes to paying the bill".

That is a very good quote indeed

The owners did say a while back that CL was the key and that they could compete with any club in the transfer market. A couple quotes that will haunt them - nearly as bad as spade in the ground

FSG can go f**k themselves, seriously their just taking the ***** now. If we end the transfer window with this laughable excuse for a squad i will be livid. How plain do they need to see it to realise we need some investment in the playing squad. We have no chance of finishing 4th with this squad, absolutely none

Pipe down son, FSG are doing a FANTASTIC job balancing the books and cutting the un-necessary spend. Didn't you see their STEEL resolve in not selling Suarez, surely you need no more convincing they WILL take us forward.

It's about time you realised that results on the field need to take a backseat to the more important financial long term sustainability of this club.

We will not be bullied by other teams in paying any money the owner's don't want to pay, even if it's an extra few pounds.

That my friend is SOLID team ownership and seperates us from the Chelseas and Man City's of this world.

Sure they may go and win a few trophies along the way, but they won't have done it the hard way. And in the end that's all that matters.

I would rather much see us get relegated time and time again and fight our way up the lower league ladders then invest money into the squad when it's not financially sound according to our owners.

You need to trust these owners or get out of our club.

I think when we fail to reach the CL again this season the wake up call may arrive.
