Maureen is insane if he is looking to move on Mata. Must be some personal issue he has with him. Would love us to be in for him but realistically very unlikely we would get anywhere

Liverpool have been informed that both moses and mata are available.  But whether the club will make a move for either is unclear

Would love Mata at the club - but not a chance of getting him

Moses we would have but would prefer a lot more before we look at him

edit: on Mata - my Chelsea mate reckons the fans also want him gone because he got close to Rafa !! and Thats another reason why Maureen wants him gone

  Mata

Are they really that dense to sell him to us... wait, actually they are. But Mata wouldn't want to come here unfortunately.

If I were Man United, I would look for a swap, Rooney for Mata.

As for Moses, I'm not sure. Maybe for a good price, but I'd rather we look somewhere else first, for someone better.

that yarmolenko lad could be a real surprise package if we are interested and juan mata would be a great addition to our team. not perfect in terms of balance though but nonetheless a proven match winner.
yarmolenko would suit us better but if mata issued a come and get me to the club then by all means go for it.
we are beginning to enter the last week of the window so we need to get a move on

If Mata is available then all the top clubs will be after him and I would expect the Mancs to get him - wouldn't expect us to have a hope

But Yarmolenko is a quality player - he would be perfect for the left hand side

Cabaye would be a great buy for us. Kaboul's contract is up at the end of the year, he'd be a great solution for our CB problem as well. I dont think theres any chance of Chelsea selling Mata. Not to Utd or anyone else. Moses is likely to leave and would make a nice addition to the squad but he's not the quality player we need to take us to the next level. Yarmolenko or Shaqiri (Bayern, if they'd be willing to loan him out) would be good players to bring in for the flank.

Cabaye will goto PSG/Arsenal. I do think Kaboul is actually a very good defender but seems to be out a lot with injury so wouldn't want him.Moses is ok as a squad player, but we need to strengthen the team rather than the squad so again no for me

Jose is smart enough to know that Mata is a quality player. In that case, I wouldn't be surprised if he would block a move to a CL side, but sanction a move to the likes of us. Unfortunately, I don't believe the rumour.

That's an interesting angle - but then would the player agree to terms ?

I actually thought the same thing... We clearly won't be fighting Chelsea for anything this season, so sending Mata to us over a club who will be would be better for them. The biggest problem is likely Mata's willingness to play for a club out of the CL.

If he was told not to expect much footbal there, then why not? It's a World Cup year, he'd have Torres (probably!) telling him Anfield is a good place to play, Jose talking up Rodgers...

But I can't see them selling him.

I think they will. Jose likes the 4-2-3-1 formation and if they get willian, they'll have 7 fighting for the 3 spaces behind the striker: Willian, Hazzard, Oscar, Schurrle, De Bruyne, Mata and Moses. Injuey free and I dont think the latter two will feature much, and even with injuries, I think they'll only feature from the bench

The two behind the 3 will be made up of Lampard, Ramires, Van Ginkel, Essien and Obi Mikel (who I guess they're trying to move on aswell)

OK then, he is coming! Great play from the club for their fake interest in Willian to ensure he is bought by Chelsea so we can have Mata.

Hazard operates best down the left flank and is a certain starter . Willian is likely to play down the right flank. Between Oscar and Mata I think Mata should be getting the nod week in week out (at least for now).

Even with the arrival of Willian and Rooney?, Mata will still be their second best attacking option behind Hazard so I dont see the logic in them selling him unless ManUtd insist on his inclusion as part of the Rooney deal. They've already stated that he wont be going anywhere and certainly wont be included in any deal for Rooney so I'm not sure where the stories are coming from.

So here's a question for you all. Given that we've lost a few players cos they didn't want to come to us, will our start to the season have any impact on future decisions?
