wouldnt mind seeing this line up next season, we`d have one of the most exciting attacks in europe.

                               gerrard      WANYAMA

                                       sturridge

Non existent width you have there with both Eriksen abs Suarez playing in areas not best suited to their natural game

yacca mate that's awful. Agreed with Benny, that formation has no width at all. Switch Coutinho and Eriksen and it might look a bit better. But if we really want an attacking player, we must go for a real winger. We shouldn't be signing players and play them out of position. Hoped we learned that by now.

If Reina leaves, Rodgers will look to bring Begovic in and may offer Downing as part of the deal. (Mirror)

it is going to be quite tricky next season to fit our best players into rodgers`s preferred formation.
i think he knows it too and thats why he was recently experimenting with 3 at the back.
both suarez and sturrige are better when played centrally and coutinho`s vision and passing ability is wasted out wide as well.
i think this is probably the best formation for our front 3 but it leaves us very narrow -

                                                    coutinho

                                    sturridge                   suarez

with the players we currently have and the lack of proper balance we would be better suited to a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 if suarez is going to accompany sturridge.
a good line up next season from what we have would be.

                                                                           reina
                            johnson                  skyrtel                    agger             enrique

                             henderson              gerrard                  coutinho          downing
                                                         sturridge                suarez.

i dont recall many times since january that sturridge has lined up alongside luis in a 4-3-3

don't see a problem with that. he free and he's experienced.

He maybe free but he is a pretty awful defender these days !

Don't think it's a worthwhile signing at all.

Because I don't think buying a 32 year old poor defender is worthwhile ? Shall we bring back Poulsen as well ?

Toure is free for a reason - because he isn't good enough anymore.

I thought we wanted to move forward !

If this Toure thing is for real (keep in mind the season just ended yesterday and we will be linked to a few hundred other players by the end of the week), I wouldn't mind seeing him being brought in as a squad strengthener (is that a word).  It's not like he would be brought in for the starting XI.  Simply a versatile player who could cover any position in the back half of the team.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

would be an ok back up defender, so wouldn't be fussed if we gave him a 1 year deal

I don't want him. I agree with Benny, he's finished material and has been for some time. I understand that he'll be available for free but he's going to cost us a fortune in wages.

although he will be on a bosman he will still command a hefty wage.
good tackler and aerially decent but has a habit of ball watching. his pace would be a question also and he will leg it every year to the african nations so he will be no use to us for january.
having his experience around would be good for the younger lads and as long as we wont be relying on him as a starter every week i see no problem in bringing him here.
i hope all this cheaping it about the place on squad fillers really means that we are going to bust the bank for one or 2 marquee signings further down the line  :eyebrow
