that's my prediction.  He's the personification of average and he'll end up back in the north east because no one else wants him.

i think he has been on the vodka tampons myself :D .

"We showed United too much respect. The manager stressed at half-time that we needed to push on and put them under pressure more when they had the ball.

“He said if we could get at them they would tire and we would get chances. We did that and you saw that in the second half we played further up the pitch

“I thought in the second half our performance was really good. Certainly for the last 20 minutes we had them pegged right back.

“You could sense that their fans were getting edgy and Alex Ferguson was shouting a lot of instructions. We had them rattled a bit and created plenty of chances.”

what on earth was the topic of conversation before kick off, surely it had to be this and if it wasnt it should have been.
even though it looked like we had no game plan surely we just didnt go out in the first half winging it.

Mid-league mentality, these lads aren't tough enough to succeed. Ship him out, he's a loser.

Liverpool accept mediocrity these days and its heart breaking.

I'd have more respect if he came out and apologised for his total uselessness and lack of passion and testicles.

hard to disagree with that.
mediocrity has never been a word associated with liverpool and the day our fans succumb to this is when it will finally become reality.
we demand better because our history commands it and players like him need to wake up to that fact.

he gave an interview a while back when rodgers called him out and that was enough for me to realise he doesnt or never had what it takes to play here.
id honestly take ince over him any day even though the lad never played a game in the prem but because he actually has a spine.
the sooner we make this happen the better.

Not at all. It pains me to say it but hes not worth a carat.
No heart, no humility, no balls, no passion, no honesty, no responsibility, no credibility, no honour, no creativity. Gerrard has these in abundance and Im frankly shocked that you make the comparison
How many assists has downing had in his time here? He has scored one goal in the league and had the Fu*king cheeck to tell the Kop to shut up after he'd scored it. This shows what his mentality is and what kind of man he wants to be seen as.
Hes a passenger at best and a liability at worst and there is no chance of him improving as hes an international player who is picked week after week for his club. In his mind he must be doing something right.
He will do the bare minimum and when he leaves will justify his time here as someone who tried his best but was unlucky with the players around him.
A person with potential ability but no backbone and the sooner he goes the better

I'm not comparing stevie to downing... I'm talking about what he said in the article. What's wrong with that? It's the truth and stevie g would have said the same thing. There were worse performers than downing at that game like sterling. Is downing good enough to be a liverpool player? No... he may be useful as a squad player... but do I have a problem with what he said? No as well...

Youre missing the point.
Gerrard has a right to say that, downing doesnt
Sterling is a kid, downing isnt

You don't lie down for the Mancs ,without it having serious repercussions on your future at Liverpool Fc ,I think Downing may find the supporters that travelled  far less forgiving when they're sitting in the Kop come Saturday .
