Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Im sure if there is many here who go to Anfield on a regular basis but if there are id like to know how you feel.

The last 2 seasons when i have travelled to anfield the crowd has been awful i mean very quiet apart from YNWA at the start of the game and when the reds go marching in there isnt much singing etc there.

Which if you take home games in the last 2 years into consideration

2011-2012

Sunderland H 1-1
Bolton H 3-1
Wolves H 2-1
Man utd H 1-1
Norwich H 1-1
Swansea H 0-0
Man city H 1-1
QPR H 1-0
Blackburn H 1-1
Newcastle H 3-1
Stoke H 0-0
Tottenham H 0-0
Arsneal H 1-2
Everton H 3-0
Wigan H 1-2
A.Villa H 1-1
WBA H 0-1
Fulham H 0-1
Chelsea H 4-1

27 points from a total of 57

2012-2013

Man city H 2-2
Arsneal H 0-2
Man utd H 1-2
Stoke H 0-0

2 points from a total 12

Are the 2 linked our lack of points at home aswell as the lack of atsmosphere

To be fair Hillsborough knocked the Sh*t out of us. I remember the season after and no-one was in the mood, in fact a lot of fellas I know stopped going.
We've never really recovered what we had before

Total garbage. As usual!!!

Atmosphere s pretty good, as a season ticket holder, especially under Rafa those European nights at anfield to get us two finals in 2005 and 2007.

Atmosphere is normally very upbeat.

Thommos perm, you are deluded im afraid.

Hustler where abouts is your season ticket?

I was there against Stoke and it was shocking absolutely ridiculously quiet. I mean when the stamp when in on Suarez or a couples of calls went the wrong way yeah there was fing and blinding but there was no real support for the team from suppoedly the most iconic fans and stadium in The uk.

We have brief spells of I just cant get enough or Fields of Anfield road but many dont join in there not bothered.

I was sitting in The Kop block 202 Row 60 Seat 208. Me and the guy infront of me tried very hard to get our surroundings singing but they werent having any of it

i had a Kop season ticketfrom 87 to 97 (i think) the last few years the Atmosphere was very poor.

been a few times over the last few years and say the Atmosphere has not picked up that much, builds for about the first 10 mins then everyone seems to shut up.

I make it a rule not to skit the afflicted or the mentally challenged and I am going to stick to that here regarding you.
The European nights have a totally different meaning and many of the supporters dont come to the league matches for various reasons which makes it a different crowd with a different atmosphere.
I am almost certain that LFC1990 was talking specifically about league games so your reference to the CL is somewhat irrelevant.
As are you

Against Stoke and Arsenal the away fans at times were seemingly out singing the home fans. I think 5 or so years ago this wouldn't have happened much, even in the league. I think the general slip down the table over the last few years has dampened the mood in some fans.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I used to get over frequently on the PTS. The atmosphere was very variable depending on the oppo, the form of our team, the time of day, where you sat and how we were playing.

Blocks 305 and 306 in the Kop were good, no sitting and a good bit of singing. The match against United, at the start of 08/09 was class, Liverpool were superb and came back from a goal down to win it.

Atmosphere and enjoyment are what you make it. Sit there moaning about ticket prices, lack of atmosphere, Downings misplaced crosses and the weather and your gonna have a miserable day. Get off your ar$e and sing and cheer the team on is gonna hopefully have a knock on effect. try it.

agree but I don't think it's fair to blame the fans for the downturn in vocal atmosphere ...... I believe that every action has an equal and opposite reaction....the pampered professionals put in a mediocre complacent performance on a consistant basis then ultimately the excitement and adrenalin level of the fans will drop and the atmosphere will reflect such apathy.

yep, i'm not having a go at anyone. unfortunately it's football in general which is the main problem. for me, a lot of the most passionate fans have been priced out of the game these days.

they've changed the structure and demographic of the crowd, by removing the closely packed crowds of terraces for all seater stadia, which in turn has gentrified football, priced out and removed the more visceral, hardcore, partizan fans.
