Why didn't they back BR with the funds to sign a striker in the summer window? My answer to that is, they are not rich enough. It is time for them to sell the club to another owner who is rich enough to do that. So FSG do not deserve to own Liverpool FC. They have done what they came here for, cleared our debts but the future for Liverpool is not bright under their impoverished ownership. Do you all really think they will build that new stadium? They don't even have the money to invest in a striker.
I used to think they generously funded Kenny with 120 mill. last year and true Kenny did waste them on clowns but looking at Kenny's the net spend after considering the players we sold, it was not more than 50 million. So the bulk of that fund came from players sold not from FSG. And now even if they can come out with another 35 million for BR to sign a striker in January, it is too late. No good striker in their right mind would want to come to a club that is fighting relegation. Would you? I wouldn't if I were one. Our strikers crisis IMHO would have to depend on the strikers in the youth. Any striker we can in January will be another overpriced Andy Carroll. So why bother? I apologize if I sound too critical or negative, any feedbacks will be appreciated but no abuses please.
If I was a striker I would love to play for Liverpool, especially if I could see that the only missing ingredient is a top class striker.
I am as annoyed as anyone that FSG did not dig a little deeper this summer but on th eplus side we are now in much much better shape financially but we absolutely have to get a good stop gap in place in January and then spend big in the summer if we have any ambitions of regainig our place in the top 4 and evenually challenging for the league and they must surely realise this.
