Let's go for the man who has become an adopted scouser who only lives about 10 miles away and who with the right backing will bring us some qwality players

Raffaaaa Rafffaelll, Rafael Benitez!!!!!....

He could have Roberto Martinez as his number 2.

Martinez is a number 2
Most truthful thing Ive heard today

we could do a united here, the parallel`s are erie, after busby went they had a succession of managers in a short space of time and ended up being relegated 6 years after the won the european cup.
then again at least we`ve got a manager who knows how to win a relegation battle.
the owners havent got a clue about footy, they`ve been watching it about 3 years, they asked a baseball guy who they should employ as DoF and now they are going for the flavour of the month managerial candidate.
martinez is just this weeks version of george burley, mike walker, owen coyle, sam allardyce etc.
we`ve seen it all before but they havent, and they`ve surrounded themselves with yes men who wont say to them your making a laughing stock of the club.

Initial reaction isnt printable.

i'm still thinking wtf?

but..... his teams have always played 'good' football with players of lesser ability than we have so it could work

still hoping there are other candidates being interviewed though

I hope Its Dalglish's name that will be resonating around Anfield come the first game ..... that's a given mate .
I would definitely advocate Benitez's  return though mate .... I cant believe anything other than Rafa taking
the reins would go some way to quelling the feeling of betrayal us supporters are feeling right now .

Hold on a minute. This guy may not be our first choice here but if hes appointed manager of Liverpool football club he deserves our support. We asked the same of people in the past that doubted previous managers so lets extent Martinez, or whomever it ends up being, the same courtesy.

That was my thinking.. he wasn't in the five i had shortlisted.

What must be stated is there are a number of candidates and Martinez is just one of them.

just seen it on sly sports that we asked wigan could we talk to martinez :help .
3 years fighting relegation and now he has a good chance of landing the liverpool job, unbelievable that he is even considered but it goes to show what clueless muppets fsg are and they should stick to what they know and thats definately not football.
all this will do is spark an exodus of players from the club imo.
cant believe he is even being considered ffs

only me » Thu May 17, 2012 5:06 pm wrote:Rafa again? Really? Sign a failing manager because we run out of idea? In case everyone forget Rafa turned Liverpool to a programmed ultra tactical team which sucked the life out of creativity ,passion and attacking football. His trading skills are mediocre at best and he vests way much trust in hard working donkeys then in talent and skill. We aren't in Italy and this isn't italian football ,had enough with all those managers which turn every game to fcking chess match, Rafa maybe the best Cup manager but he isn't fit for a long run campaigns. Bring one of the Dutch managers ,some total football ,let's enjoy the game FFS.

This may be the biggest load of absolute sh*te Ive read on this forum in five years participating.

teams dont usually announce they`ve given another club permission to speak to their manager unless they know a formal approach is coming.
usually when they say that it`s permission to discuss terms.
way out of his depth, he`s managed swansea in the lower divisions (didnt even win promotion) and kept wigan up a couple of times by the skin of their teeth.

much though we might not agree with their decisions i really dont think FSG are clueless

we dont know whats going on behind the scenes and although its difficult to take in the current 'must know everything now' media frenzy i quite like this old fashioned approach

most importantly of all - getting mad at this stage is pointless. it hasnt happened and may never happen. it's bad enough dealing with bad things that do happen without worrying about what might happen (especially as we cant do anything about it anyway)
