he really needs to have his A game today if played.
he's been very disapointing all season and half the time doesnt look bothered.he is for me the strongest candidate for worst player of the season.
so bring the A game and a set of balls and play out of your skin lad!!

utter cr@p

was awful today, like he's been awful all season. One of the WORST transfers in our history and shouldn't be anywhere near our club.

Get rid...and get rid now

needs to be sold ASAP, horrendous, just plain awful worse than Keane signing.

I even read a shocking stat that Jan Krompkamp in 14 games had more assists than Downing all season... shocking

No f**king balls whatsoever....

Its amazing he gets picked frequently.

I mentioned earlier that i don't wanna see him play for us anymore and i still stand by it.

People gave kewell a hardtime....but kewell is 10 times the player downing is. he shoud move DOWN to a mid-tier club.

Mr. F,ucking nervous.

The bloke looks like a 54 yr old virgin, standing naked in front of Some young model with her legs spread at ten ta two. Quivering cowardly at what to do next.

The bloke has no self belief, no bottle and goes missing most of the time - he's not worthy of the shirt.

I cannot understand why a lot of posters seem to think that the team selection was ok when this absolute utter waste of space was allowed anywhere near the pitch. After his I'm Stewart Downing don't expect me to do any work performance against Fulham I wouldn't even have put him on the bench. DOES HE EVER FKG LOOK UP WHEN HE CROSSES THE BALL ???????? He really is sh.ite and Henderson once again given the nod over Kuyt was only slightly better.

I think he crossed one ball yesterday in the first half which Cole headed out for the corner with barely anyone in the box again. In the second half he did very little one cross near the end was too high and floated harmlessly to the back post.

I don't think he did great yesterday at all but then besides Carroll only really Agger and Johnson were worthy of being on that pitch. Kenny should have started him on the right as Bellamy had a shocker yesterday out wide and Downing has tended to look more effective in some games when he's played on the right.

even the likes of el zhar used to try and beat his man every now and again. this guy is the world's most defensive winger who looks scared to take his man on. as others have said, he has no bottle whatsoever.

he has the beating of most in the league with his pace and especially against that calamity bosingwa yesterday.he should have ran at him numerous times in the first 10 mins and set the tone but he is too reluctant to go forward.
he needs to grow a pair over the summer change the direction his career is heading in as this season he has been the worst player in the side hands down.

i thought he was looking pretty good tonight until the penno miss. that seemed to suck all the life out him though, and i genuinely do feel sorry for him.

  Since the new forum, Dunny doesn't post as much but you can bloody guarantee when it comes to "Downing Watch" he is right here, on the ball !

Was I the only one that thought he got the last touch on the free-kick for the Chelsea goal?  I swear it went in off his shin, proving he can do more than hit the woodwork at Anfield.  :0  :D
