If Kenny puts in a cheeky 25m bid for VP that might do it

had his medical yesterday, just waiting for the work permit now till we confirm the news from our end.
LIVERPOOL FC have seen off a last-ditch attempt by Atletico Madrid to land Sebastian Coates.
The Spanish outfit tried to hijack the Nacional centre-back’s proposed £7million move to LFC by submitting an offer of around £8million.
However, Coates informed his Uruguayan club he had no interest in speaking to Atletico as his heart was set on signing for the Reds.
Despite the size of Atletico’s offer, Nacional have agreed to respect the defender’s wishes and he underwent a medical in Liverpool yesterday.
As Coates’ deal nears completion, Craig Bellamy’s proposed return to Liverpool has moved a step closer after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admitted he would be prepared to let him join the Reds.
The 32-year-old Welshman is available on a free transfer and will sever his ties with City if he can agree a financial settlement on the rest of his contract.
“Craig is a good player and it’s important for him and for me to find a good solution,” Mancini said. “It could be (Liverpool) and it’s important players from City can go to a good team. We have another week and I hope can find a good solution.”
Liverpool face competition from Tottenham to land Bellamy as Dalglish looks to add to his attacking options.
Meanwhile, winger Stewart Downing has urged Liverpool to turn Anfield into a fortress ahead of today’s clash with Bolton (5.30pm).
The Reds dropped two points at home on the opening weekend against Sunderland and the winger is keen to build on last weekend’s victory at Arsenal.

Whatever happened with that Lucas Moura? Sure we were linked with him at 1 point.
