Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

from the Guadian

Liverpool are making off with Jose Enrique, meanwhile, and are lining up a big-money bid for Bolton's Gary Cahill. With a new face in almost every position, Liverpool could only look more different from last season if they chose to play in blue. Ah hold on.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

From BBC Sport

Bolton manager Owen Coyle says reports suggesting star defender Gary Cahill is on the verge of a big-money move to Liverpool are "without foundation".

The England defender has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester City this summer.

There has also been speculation suggesting that Liverpool are close to securing a deal for the 25-year-old.

But Coyle said: "It is irresponsible. Nothing has happened, there is nothing concrete, there is nothing to report."

Gary Cahill FactfileContinue reading the main story Cahill had loan spells at Burnley and Sheffield United before he was transferred from Aston Villa to Bolton for £5m in 2008 The Sheffield-born defender made his England debut as a substitute in the 4-0 Wembley win over Bulgaria in September 2010 Liverpool, who face Valencia in a friendly on Saturday at Anfield, have struggled defensively in pre-season and could do with back-up to the injury-prone Daniel Agger and veteran defender Jamie Carragher, 33.

But Coyle made it clear that an imminent move for Cahill to Anfield was not on the cards.

He said: "This story is without a shred of foundation. To just reel words off is in poor taste. Nothing surprises you in football but people should have more knowledge of the background for anything before they write it.

"It doesn't faze me. I am not raging about it. I am just making a point.

"If someone leaves, it will be the right business for the club but I don't pre-occupy myself with thoughts like that when I have a team to prepare for the rest of the season."

Sounds nervous to me!!!!!!

I'd be chuffed with Cahill and Enrique coming in. Any one of Shawcross, Cahill, Samba or Dann if I'm being honest, just pick one :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Yeah, he has gone off on one for no reason. He is normally a calm guy and doesn't say too much. Maybe there is something to read into his rant  :eyebrow

From FansFC (? ???)

Liverpool closing on £5million Enrique
02:00 PM 04 August, 2011
Liverpool Football Club hope to wrap up a deal for Jose Enrique this week.

Kenny Dalglish is determined to land a new left fullback ahead of the new season, having identified this as the biggest problem position in his starting line-up.

The Reds have long been linked with a move for Enrique, the uncapped Spaniard, who is in the final twelve months of his contract at Newcastle United.

And it is believed Dalglish hopes to wrap up a deal for the 25-year-old before the weekend, with an offer of £5million heading to St James Park for the player.

This is Newcastle we're talking about MH..

Ashley has mood swings and does things at random when he's in a bad mood.  NOBODY knows what's going on at that club.
