ADZE : A young person attracted by the English sirens

16/08/2006 - 13. 39 - Ludovic COLAS

These last days, l’AS Saint Etienne lost Nabil El Zhar. Nonsatisfied with the contract suggested by the leaders with l’intersaison, the young Morrocan left. Not being able to sign in a French club, it took the direction of l’Angleterre and it signed a 4 year old contract with Liverpool.

As always in such a case of figure, there will be surely continuations on behalf of the club forezien which hopes well to touch an allowance of consequent formation.

Nabil El Zhar had arrived from Nimes 2 years ago. Fast medium of ground and good technician, it had made very beautiful services at the time of the championship of the World junior with l’équipe of Morocco in 200

And there's some on RAWK claiming that this is infact true. We've signed him for 200,000 pounds it seems.

Liverpool linked with St Etienne whiz El Zhar
tribalfooball.com - August 16, 2006

Liverpool are being linked with a move for St Etienne youngster Nabil El Zhar.
French sources are indicating Liverpool have moved for the Moroccan-born midfielder, 19, after coming out of contract at St Etienne. French transfer laws have prevented El Zhar from moving to another Ligue 1 club, so opening the door for Liverpool to table a four-year contract offer.

El Zhar carries a French passport and was scouted by Liverpool at last year's U20 World Championship where he scored for France in the quarterfinals against Italy.

Just wanted to make a correction. Nabil El Zhar player for Morocco in the U20 youth championship. He's moroccan/French but most like will opt for morocco. In the WC youth championship he played all games and morocco qualified to the semi-finals. Their best feat in any soccer tournament ever :D

now on SSN

Liverpool are reported to have agreed a deal to sign St Etienne youngster Nabil El Zhar.

Reports emanating from France claim Liverpool have struck a deal to sign the talented midfielder.

The former France youth international now plays for Morocco after pledging his allegiance to the African country.

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old for some time after watching him on several occasions last season.

El Zhar turned down a new deal at St Etienne and he has cancelled his contract with Les Verts to make himself a free agent.

Liverpool are thought to have moved quickly to land the player by offering him a four-year deal at Anfield.

Interesting. If we are going to sign him, it just shows how Rafa is building for the future as well.

Hopefully he'll be here in the long term as well. :)

The lad's official website http://www.nabilelzhar.c.la/ indeed claim that he has signed for us.

Just because it isn't on the official site doesn't mean it's true. Look how long it took them to announce the signing of Aurelio when most of us knew it months before.
