If we want to be able to challenge for the Premier League crown we need to have another striker who can help El Nino. Real Madrid have been trying to sign Xabi Alonso for the last couple of seasons. Why try striking a deal with Juventus, a club that has been in embroiled in controversy. Why not send Xabi to Real Madrid and then get Robinho in a player + cash deal. While not proven in La Liga, given the players pace and skill on the ball and the impending arrival of Gareth barry and already having the best Midfielder in the world to link up with and play balls through to you, why would you not want to play at the Greatest club in the world !!

What do others think ??

Be good to get one over on Chelski who don't have a manager and have changed manager again !!

I really doubt Real Madrid would do such an exchange for alonso!! Robinho has been a revelation for them this season, so basically he is an unrealistic target, unless we offer straight cash (28m or more).

I want Xabi to stay. Look, if as has been reported- that Mascher, Leiva, Babel etc will be part of their respective country's Olympic teams later this years, then we will need good cover. I'm sure Xabi will be back to his best next season.

Alonso for Robinho
Pennant for Sneijder

Madrid may even be tempted to Part with Raul for Voronin
and Ramos for Riise :suspect:
