The problem scottbot is that if I consider Mcmanaman skillfull, then I don't know in which category was Figo, or Savio in that team... Mcmanaman bridged the gap to the skill of this players, with professionality and hard work.

Both players far better in dribbling and control. I rate Mcmanaman a lot, but not for that part.

but you said he is a 'not skilled player', so make your mind up, is he skilled or not?

with your reasoning then only one player in the world can be skilled and everyone below him is not skilled, or rather with your origional reasoning.

so i gather now you are saying he is skilled but not as skilled as figo or savio

Well, I've made up my mind since day one. Obviously he has to have a certain amount of skill to make it to the primera division and premiership important teams.

That said, I can count the more skillful players by dozens in the liga, so "skill" won't be his main feature for me.

Does Bellamy know heading? yes. Would I consider him a good header of the ball? no. And in the liga there was a lot of players more skillful than Steve.

ok so when you said he is a 'not skilled player' you made a little mistake, you were meaning to say he is not as skilled as some other players.

thats fair enough, the way you explained it would mean there is only one skilled player in the world and everyone else must be not skilled

Could you define "skill" anyway? The way we define players here is a bit different and often translations are not faithful.

And yes, what I meant is that I wouldn't define him as a skillfull player, he had other strengths.

mmm yes how does one define skill, generally people would associate a skilful player as someone good on the ball, someone who can go past players and also someone with tricks, of course players can have other skills such as passing etc, but a skilful player we would associate as i have just described

where is stu when you need him? Everything needs a frame of reference. But i think its safe to say every player in the premiership has skills. :)
