How many goals scored in the league , would be acceptable by your standards, for Andy Carroll ?

He said 12, and 16 in all competitions

yep I see the post now..........
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW AND TOMORROW IS JUST A DREAM AWAY.

What is the singular dimension from Carroll ?

One dimensional because defenders exactly know how he's gonna play, therefore he is easy to be taken out of the game. Don't be fooled by the goal against Sweden. He won't be able to consistently do that in the premier league. Good strikers like Owen, fowler, Torres can score goals despite the best efforts by defenders, because they have the skill and talent. Not so Andy. Andy is an ordinary striker I'm afraid. People say he's 23 and still young and he can get better. But people forget that for strikers talent is very obvious at a young age. They do get better but not much better. They're not like defenders keepers or CM's where experience helps to make their game slot better.

Benny, you have to give up on some people... There arguments are as one-dimensional as they claim Carroll plays even tho anybody with eyes can see the argument makes no sense.

We can just watch them eat humble pie when Carroll shows up for us.

what has impressed me is that andy has won over the nation, i dont mean in the sense that he`s a national hero or anything but you dont hear anyone questioning roy`s decision to take him to poland anymore, before the tournament there was uproar in some quarters that he`d been picked for the squad but now the general consensus is that he`s been unlucky to be left out of the starting XI.
this tournament will do his confidence the world of good and next season we`ll see the benefit of that. he`ll feel like a big time player who belongs on the big stage when he comes back.

Anyone who doesnt see the positives in Carrolls performances, both for england and for us is either unwilling or unable to see them

Actually I'm just trying to wind up the likes of Benny and Thommo

I don't think Andy is as bad as I'm making him out to be. I just don't think that he should be our main striker. He's definitely not as good as Owen, fowler or Torres... But he's definitely improved after 18 months...

He's getting better but he'll never be a big star striker, he just doesn't have that extra 5% that the great ones do. I think he'll become a usefull backup striker for us and also an impact sub but we have to get more strikers in during this transfer period, ithas to be the top priority.

How annoying it is to see him play well for England when he couldn't manage to string together a few good performances until the back end of last season  :glare:
