"potential"... "come good".. baseless waffle waffle waffle

The best thing anyone can do (like the saddo i am) is try to obtain extensive footage of Carroll at Newcastle (no not 4 minute youtube highlight reels that make Heskey look like Vieiri). As Alan Pardew correctly stated (which many of our fans wrongly took offence to), we do not play to the cumbersome big fellas strengths, we do not play a limited direct midtable standard method of play that bypasses midfield and lumps the ball up to him to.. A.win flick ons, B.get on the end of stuff so he can swing his hit and miss left foot at it. Hes never involved in the play as we are a passing side.  He will score even less with us than he did at newcastle, and the only way for him to score the 13 to 15 goals with us is to stop playing it on the floor, start launching it upfield more often (Nolan), get wide players hugging the touchline (Guiterriez) and just swing the ball in constantly. Sacrifice a fluid pass and move possession game, that trys to carve open opponents (such as our dismantling of Fulham last season) and instead become direct. OK we wont challenge for anything, and we will kill the slick passing method of play that the likes of Suarez, Maxi, Bellamy and co. play, but we will be playing to the limited big fellas strengths.

13 League starts since he joined us.  4 goals.  Is it what we want?  No.  But it's nowhere as bad as this thread reads.  Suarez has started 26 league games for us in the same amount of time and scored 9 league goals.  Simmer down guys.

Listening to radio phone ins though there seemed to be a lot of calls regarding Andy ( again ) we should sell him, we should loan him out, we should get Anelka or Defoe ? Until MOD later can anyone tell me if this is yet more fickle knee jerk reactions or did he really have a bad game today ?

 He didn't play today.  Were people upset with the way he was sitting?

:;): Exactly my point. Won the game, created chances and yet he was the main topic ?

Carroll put in an excellent performance on saturday...warmed up well...never fell over once; head groundsman was more than pleased with the way stayed on his feet to aerate the touchline. He added if we can get repeat performances every week from the big fella for the rest of the season, we will have the grass growing in no time...The head groundsman also re-itterated, if there was a recall to the first team it could well spell disaster for the up keep of the touchline and possible impending doom for the team as a whole....it's something that Kenny and Clarkey need to consider when choosing the subs for the xmas fixture list.

Are you sure youre a Red?
Im not saying youre not, so dont take offence, but you are making an argument I would expect a rival fan would make to turn supporters against one of our players.
I know Woof has said hes sh'ite but you seem to be going into rather a lot of detail to, on the face of it, incite and anger people at what you seem to think is the biggest disaster LFC has ever witnessed.
I am probably wrong....?

For £30 million I want at least two goals per game from him

You're missing the point as did Bad Bob when I had this discussion with him earlier on in the campaign. It's not just about his goals, it's about his ALL ROUND game that he brings to the team. And apart from a couple of impressions as a 'nonchalant Bambi on ice' he's doing feck all!

Here we go.

Devil's advocate.

You are a disgrace to Liverpool fans, your not giving the bloke a chance - like you did with lucas. This isn't the Liverpool way disrespecting your own players like this. You are a WUM!

Under normal circumstances I'd say "I told you so". But, as I have told so with such vehemence and frequency already the phrase has lost all meaning. Therefore, I will be replacing it with the phrase, "I have informed you thusly"...

No bam you are the WUM...always have been....Never for one minute did I ever believe you were a supporter of Liverpool, just tolerated your participation on newkit the same way cheescakery was allowed to take part in discussions many moons ago.It was clear then he was a manc and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if his disappearance coincided with the emergence of yourself "Kenny Kan" and all the other aliases used over the last few years.
With regards to Carroll....I just now bad eggs when I see them...Poulsen and Konchesky were the other misfits that were recent additions to our squad that dumbfounded me. To be fair to Poulsen he actually put effort into his appearances but was limited in what he could do,Andy Carroll is not a good footballer...he is sh!t

22 year old with great potential, still quite new to the game, now playing on one of the greatest stages in the world for the greatest club.  Not a player based on ball skills but a lot on drive and determination and power, potential but drive affected by increased/reduced confidence. Source of greater confidence, LFC fans, message, get behind the lad and stop the whining.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Bravo
The people who backed Lucas (with good reason) for so long when he stank the place out, should give Carroll the same support. Slagging him off doesnt help him or us
