They were pleased the way we play without him... again. :D

i saw the highlights btw Norwich and Newcastle, and Dembe Ba scoredd 2.
the irony is that we bid 35m for Carroll,
Ba got promoted in his place and scored 11 for the season,
i wonder if Newcastle is interested in a straight swap - our Carroll for Ba.

yeah i was thinking the same...
but methinks this is fantasy, it like seeing a girl that is hotter than your gf and wanting for a swap. LFC and Kenny will nvr allow that.

I think youll find that despite Ba's goals we are above them in the league and will be at the end of the season.
Carroll is an investment. At the moment I agree he might not look like a good investment at the price. But if he is part of our success then he will have been worth every penny.
Many people think short term, which is understandable because they want instant returns. I believe Carroll will come good soon and will be scoring for fun. The Christmas period is a great leveller and we will see some interesting results come the new year.

Mate, I love your "faith" but I think it's misplaced.

I thought Carrol was a good signing for us , was looking forward to seeing him as a Toshack mark 2 for LFC.

How fking disappointed have I been  :(

The fella (imo) has played on a par with a sack of spuds. Fk all this sh'ite about "give him time". He's english, the premier league is not new to him, bottom line is he's just not doing it.

I gave a shout for Berbatov in another thread as a player we could use and right now I'd bite the scums hand off if they offered us a straight swap with him for Carrol, unfortunately they're not that thick.

Agreed Woof....Carroll has been a major let down, mostly to himself I'd imagine, if he had anything between his ears. He has a marvellous opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, and by all accounts he's not @rsed training properly.
Mind you, I don't think the brand of footie KK wants to play suits him either. Which begs the question - why the fook did KK sign him !?!?!?

We are 3 points off 4th and 5 points off 3rd. Spurs are faltering and christmas fixtures are coming. We are not doing too bad considering we have an absolutely sh'ite (worse than Lucas was) player in our midst.
I dont believe for one minute that Carroll hasnt been training properly, mainly because KK would fu'ck him right off, and I have faith that he will turn it round soon.
:D

By the way, Berbatov

Hey Thommo, if things don't change, ie losing points to the likes of Fulham, Norwich and Swansea etc then your obsevation

with any luck is probably where we'll finish.

I will start having a go when the crosses are constantly flying into the box and he misses chance after chance, then we can have a right to say, yep he is rubbish.

But so far, Downing hasn't delivered, Henderson hasn't delivered and despite his brilliant reputation for his corners Adam hasn't delivered either. Now considering Carroll strives on the kind of crosses these players can deliver, and have failed to do so so far this season, I tend to blame the collective rather than the individual. If you are to blame Carroll then surely you have to spread the blame and not always stick to the scapegoat rule.

ya Reina saying Carroll is the worst trainer really let me down.
if he is not playing well i hope that at least he can put in the effort to better himself during training.

Bellers recently also said that Rushie was the worst trainer in Wales squad, but that guy is a legend and probably trained differently when he was with the national team.

Kenny when he was playing and managing us for a good 2 decades did not play/manage target men. so i am going to be extremely prejudice and question that did Kenny really wanted to sign Carroll ?
or was it a decision by Comolli ?

Many of us know the answer to that. He was a panic buy. Originally Suarez was signed to partner 'Judas' Torres. But because he wanted out a few days before the window closed, we had to find a replacement quick with only about 48 hours remaining. So they panickingly snapped up Carroll because he was young and scored 11 in 18 games and statistically speaking, he was very impressive. And I guess Comolli and Kenny didn't have enough time to do their homework on him, plus they had too much cash in hand after the sale of that overpriced sulking bloke.

I feel we should still keep him and hope he will come out good one day because if we sell him now, we won't get much out of it to use it to finance the next signing. So we should use him as a backup striker for the time being and it is a MUST to look for someone from anywhere in the world who can form a formidable striking partner with Suarez when the window opens next month. I hope Kenny and Comolli are doing their homework on this now. Otherwise, forget about top 4 finish and could cost Kenny's job come next May.

I have not been disappointed with Carroll as i expected nothing from him. Most of my disappointment was taken up on the day we signed him. We dont play hoofball like newcastle.. we (aspire to) play on the floor with incisive passing and constant interchanging which is asking way too much of someone of lesser ability than technical players such as Suarez, Maxi, Bellamy and co.

First he has never scored for fun, there is no "coming good". This is not Torres, this is not a player who has done it before and we are waiting for him to do it again, this is 14 goals in the top flight andy carroll. This is a player who has never displayed the technique required to play on the deck. He was at home at long ball hoofball newcastle where flick ons and getting on the end of stuff was what he did. This method of play is midtable level. For us to accomodate the one dimensional awkward big fella to ensure he gets his 13 to 15 goals per season we would have to lower our standard of play, become direct, bypass midfield, keep swinging in crosses, and kiss any chance of competing for CL spots goodbye. Technical play on the floor will always triumph over hoofball.

Missing chances is not a problem (any player can miss).. its that hes anonymous. He is out of his depth with a team that plays on the floor, is never involved in build up play, name mentioned maybe 3 to 4 times per half, and is then hauled off for being... anonymous.

The emperor is wearing no clothes... open your eyes, stop waffling, remove the baseless hope, and start analysing the player properly. We overpaid 20 million pounds in what is almost certainly the single most financially bizarre transfer ever (the worst excuse ever i heard is that it was "torres money"... no it was our money). For us to be successful means Carroll not featuring. If thats an "investment" i won't be asking you for financial advice.
