Cue more discontentment in the Chelski ranks. For the money paid, I can see this seriously biting them on the ar*e. Don't get me wrong, he's a class player, but they've simply got too many defenders now. If they're ever all fit at the same time, he'll have about half a dozen guys with faces like thunder cos they can't get a game.

he's without doubt the best fullback in the world in my opinion and the fact we couldnt find an extra 2million to buy him last year shows how desperately we needed this takeover
12million would have been a bargin

He lacks the defensive capabilities to play in Chelsea's system, this is another Champ Manager Purchase. This will also mean Chelsea have a wider net transfer expenditure than us again, suck it Jose

hes a very good defender people assume he cant defend because he attacks so well but ive seen him play atleast 30 times and he can defend as good as most fullbacks

He's gone now.

Paco came out in the summer and said he was no longer a target for us. Rafa probably regrets not paying the £14m he was on offer for last year but its water under the bridge now.

I can't imagine Rafa ever spending £25m on one player and if he did it definitely wouldn't be a right back.

For £25m Chelsea can have him.

News reports are saying at the moment on sky that this may not be a done deal and that chelski have admitted an interest and it is the agent spouting off.

Still expect him to sign

But would be funny if it all fell through and Middleborough stepped in and got him

Torres is not a right back he spent the 20mil in an area that was desperate

Well its not beyond the realms of possibility that he would pay 3.5 million more for a player then is it?

But strikers are different I suppose, and as soon as any English club starts sniffing about 10 mill gets added to the fee.

Rafa doesn't work in realms.

I met him the other day for a quick pint and paella in West kirby. He brought the girls and we had a great day out building sandcastles and knocking others peoples down.

I asked him then and he said he would never spend more than £24.99m for any player.

So there.
